Like, how strong?
(I doubt you have one strong enough to effect anything, but as soon as I say that you will pull out the coil from an MRI or something to go on top of a machine).
Picture this in your mind
I plan to fix a magnet in the hole/gap ontop of a Tommy pinball, and then JB weld another magnet to a mirror gazing ball to use as a topper. Hopefully the magnetic attraction will be strong enough to secure the ball.
What do you think?
It won't hurt anything. Despite all the tales of doom, you can put magnets right on top of a hard drive and not hurt anything.

rather go this route and use rubber. creating extra work messin with magnets.

Hard drives are ate ast magnetic media. There is no magnetic media in a pinball backbox. Use whatever magnet you want
Quoted from bugray:Hopefully the magnetic attraction will be strong enough to secure the ball.
and if not.. broken glass?
