When lights. ABC etc are lit , some times cannot operate magic squares.
After a ffew times working ok with no problem, for unknow reason not operatable.
Once working in a game they keep working in that game, but starting new game some times not working
Any suggestions???

Check the switches under the footrail buttons and make sure they can close properly when the buttons are pressed.

If that's not it (it's usually not, but still worth a look), then you should take a close look at the Magic Squares feature unit for broken wires/lifted wiper arms. While you're in there, take a look at the timer unit and make sure it can step freely and reset properly. Look for broken wires as well.

If that all looks good, then the problem is almost certainly in your trip bank - specifically the before 4th/5th trip banks.

To test if one of the before 4th or 5th trip bank switches is causing a problem, try tripping the red rollover and see what happens, that will bypass both of those switches. Also, since the problem seems to be common to all squares, I doubt the footrail button have anything to do with it since they all are inoperable. Bingopodcast is right, those buttons are worth a look and cleaning anyway because crud fell into the game over the years and those get pretty filthy. Also, this could have something to do with the shutter switch 4B. It's a straightforward circuit but there's quite a few switches involved to get those things turning.

After some testimg the problem is for sure in the tripbank. Did already some cleaning but difficult to, access.
No succes yet. Some times for a while it works and then withour anyreason fault starts again.

Did you pass the bank switch with a jumper to be sure? Just wondering what you did to isolate it.

What i did was activating the red and or yelloew star when lit. Then upper, light burns that pressbutton after 5th ball bypasses all the others and magic screens van be turned without any problem

if before 5th is flaky but after 5th is fine, your problem is likely the before 5th selector lock trip relay switch R2 (manual page 65).

you can verify by:
- enable squares with the standard before 4th lit
- wait for problem to happen
- manually trip the yellow rollover trip relay (a wooden meat skewer is handy to poke into the trip bank and release the armature plate)
- if squares work, suspect before 4th selector lock trip relay switch L4.
- if squares don't work, manually trip the red rollover trip relay. If squares work, R2 as above
- if squares still don't work, it's something else like after 5th trip relay R1, a tilt trip relay switch, etc.

access to switch R2 is awkward. If you aren't using a moto-tool with a wire wheel to clean switch contacts, t's usually easiest to unscrew the entire stack and remove it to get to the contacts with a burnishing tool. When screwing the stack back on, tighten the screw nearest the switch blades first, then the other...and don't overtighten...the screws are soft.

to adjust the switch, you often need to remove an adjacent switch stack to get access to the blades with an adjusting tool.

Yes bingo!!! The r2 was causing the problem because after cleaning/adjusting problem solved and my cypress garden runs without having problem. Difficult to access but finally get it done
Thank you guys for the help and info given
