Yeah, any basic fans with the same number of shots are going to be VERY similar.

Space Invaders and Silverball Mania. The same except Space Invaders has more to it beeing a widebody.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

So, I know that Tron and Congo have similar layouts

    Trongo!

I actually thought Tron was influenced by Funhouse with similar locations for Flynn scoop, pops, left ramp and 2 left return lanes.

    Quoted from thedefog:

JP is part Addams, Part Funhouse in reverse. But in all honesty, Addams is Funhouse in reverse. Only difference is that Lawlor can do that and get away with it because he came up with it to begin with.

When you put them beside each other like that, it always surprises me just how different TAF and JP actually are. They both have a divertable ramp and three flippers in about the same spots, but beyond that, uh...

    Stern Harley Davidson and IJ4.

Actually JP and Whirlwind are nearly identical.

    Flash and BK2000:

Both Steve Ritchie designs and a decade apart, but quite similar. Even without wireforms and two levels, you can see how Flash could've been a template for BK2000 as well as SR's future upper right flipper/loop layouts. FYI, I heard BK2000 was going to be a Flash sequel, but became BK2000 instead. Both characters also possess lightning bolts

As for layout similarities, just look here:
-top loop via upper right flipper
    -Eject hole near/behind UR flipper
    -Similar layout/angle of drop targets.
-Left shot leading to UR flipper (Flash is a same level shot, BK2000 goes up a skyway ramp)
-Similar locations of pops and rollovers.

John Trudeau's gottlieb Robo-war looks VERY similiar to his recent Stern Mustang layout:
