    Quoted from ectobar:

There are certainly settings to bump the power.

Factory setting is 60% and we'll leave it there for now since you clearly have no problem closing in on 2M and dominating the high score roster.

StarMap ExBall has just been lowered from 10 hits to 8.

Discovered and Fixed unreported Chest fork assembly malfunction.
Discovered and Fixed unreported Starmap rubber (30pt) shorted out, scoring continuously.

    Quoted from misterschu:

@yaggy the orbit post on champion pub does not engage.

Thanks, this is helpful - playability issues like this often go unreported and I can't always play (ahem, "test") them all each visit.

Barcade in Fishtown closed indefinitely due to new restrictions now in effect,
best case scenario has it reopening "in the spring." It is certainly not a sure thing.

    Shout out to

    NPS - BB - DRT - MCJ

    Quoted from ectobar:

can you make either an incline or flipper power adjustment?

The right flipper has been boosted, does not help. Dropping incline makes game play too slow long before helping ramp shot. Some people have made it, namely off redirected inertia (never from a held ball) but it's brutal and ridiculous. I have already drilled holes in this playfield to realign metal guides to improve flow and shots. Like their Alice Cooper, I think Spooky started manufacturing a playfield they didn't thoroughly play-test and the result is just weird and often unsatisfying with a broad lack of quality control across the same title (you are better off buying a high s/n machine, these early builds vary greatly in exact item placement, altering play mechanics heavily). Not giving up, though, will look into making more changes. It's a pretty neat game in any event. The left sling being a pop bumper is unsettling.

    Quoted from ectobar:

    figure something out

    GOOD NEWS // ERROR FOUND
Spooky built the flipper cranks with incorrect and missing parts.
    Especially the lower right one.

Rebuilt these correctly with the proper bits and viola...
Left ramp is totally doable now. All flippers are wicked hardcore.

    Quoted from deibert:

A pinball machine will only make a fraction of what the other redemption games will make in a location like that.

More redundancy in ticket games will just spread out the same, flat redemption revenue. Pinball income is mostly different/additional income. Maybe not enough people were playing, though? Billy has a good reason. I bet his weekly totals stay flat or even drop.

Barcade is closed for a couple days, one of the much-loved managers just passed away in a freak accident.

Just saw on Instagram Barcade in Fishtown now has a Halloween.

Confirmed. It's the Collector's Edition and has all the extras.
Spooky has done a pretty good job this time. Very fun.
BAD CATS has also arrived. There are now nine machines.

The Illinois Tilted 10 with pins just opened a few weeks ago, so no track record on their first foray into pins since Nickels & Dimes dumped their inventory back in early 2000s. The big boys want to cash in on the craze but won't put the resources into them -- even super old redemption games out-earn pins and don't require anywhere near the amount of parts and labor. Even perfectly good machines need careful waxing and rubber cleaner / replacement. Not to mention coil sleeves, coil stops and plunger links (flipper maintenance).

There already are a few pins inside Willow Grove Mall at a regular arcade owned by a local family (which will have to close). They are classic Williams titles but they look and play great. Operator was planning to put more in as traffic increases, but I guess that's out the door now.

Nice display and lighting effects. Tasteful enhancements on the original, which I only ever saw out at PAPA. The showdowns are clever, I think people will dig that the most.

Oh and LUCKY SNAKE in Atlantic City recently dropped 60+ pins on the floor and trying to get them all running. A strange but time-spanning mix of titles with almost zero Bally/Williams WPC or System11 titles. Worth a look if down the shore...

    Quoted from craif:

Turns out he's been running locations and fixing pins in Jersey for as long as I've been alive.

Bought my second machine off him in 1988 out of that Blackwood, NJ strip mall arcade he had, "Family Flippers." I'd go on to buy many games from him over the years and he taught me practical repair skills in a pre-internet age when coinop people intentionally didn't share knowledge due to competition. He's now retired and lost his wife not long ago. I drove many miles, past many other big arcades, to plays his games because there was always something new or different and everything worked - a big detail you don't immediately appreciate until you go other places that host more average upkeep practices. Operating games is risky, thankless and a great way to stay poor. This probably means the other locations where he had machines are also changing hands or being removed. A retirement from coinop well deserved and a small acknowledgement of the four decades of entertainment he provided around south jersey. He is still doing in-home repairs last time I talked to him.

    Updates...

TILTED 10 at Willow Grove Mall is open! But despite them saying "Pinball lovers rejoice. Stern Pinball machines are here too!" there are currently no pinball machines. Pricing seems to run high, their SkeeBall, for instance, is almost $2 per play.

GAME GALLERY in Langhorne, PA claims a soft opening next week. Owner has an interesting past, wonder what will come.

DEL-VUE ARCADE in Lambertville NJ is now open with a single pinball: Attack from Mars

    Quoted from craif:

It's on 5 ball, but it's sometimes starting on ball 2 or 3...
It's also playing for 1 token despite saying 2 tokens so I didn't worry about it.
However many balls you end up getting it plays decent enough. Nice to see an EM in the wild.

If you drop the 2nd coin, it will finish resetting everything. It sometimes (often?) "half" resets on first coin, resulting in unusual ball count. More often, you just get a discounted full game. The more mechanical chimes ringing out, the better! I love hearing my bonus collection tabulated with all the clicking and clacking.

There will be 10-12 pins in Center City to play, maybe by the end of the year, as Barcade starts to deliver machines.
Chestnut & Juniper (Historic Hale Building).

    -

Uncle Joe's Arcade @ Plymouth Meeting Mall is having [their first] tournament next Sunday, Nov 12 (1pm).
    https://next.matchplay.events/tournaments/120161

    -

Stopped by MOM's Organic Market (Abington) and they had 5 games down (of the 15 or so), I believe for quite some time now. Always bring your own quarters, changer down. The available games all played pretty good, no real problems.
