Penn Skate Arcade in Allentown added Metallica (Pro) this weekend

Added over 7 years ago: My bad... Metallica (Premium) was added.

    Met premium, they bought mine

Thanks for clearing that up. I was going off the photo from unloading and made an assumption. I'll correct my post and pinball map.

So I couldn't locate it. Walked entire first and second levels, nothing. Stopped in PJ's bar, nothing. As Spiffy mentioned, it very well could be at Xfinity Live.
    *** EDIT UPDATE ***
As we were walking out I located OZ. It's in the Cure Insurance Club/Bud Light Zone area. This area is located next to Campos and Chickie & Petes. Best I can describe it.

I was at Wells Fargo Center on Monday night and checked the Cure Insurance Club/Bud Light Zone area and didn't find it. I saw a few other games but no pinball. I hope they didn't remove it.

Time for a little bragging. Finally managed to take down the GC on TWD.

I now have every GC at UP!
    GC!GC!

    #358 6 years ago

Found this guy at Zern's in Gilbertsville on Friday, wasn't there a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately it was in pretty rough shape, tried to play but a ball was stuck somewhere. Helpful fella at the stand next door told me the last guy picked it up and dropped it to get the ball loose but I politely declined and powered it down.

    Barcade's got pins!

Addams, Junk Yard, Dr. Dude, Champion Pub, and Metallica.

We've also started a regionally-based league with places both in and around Philadelphia.

More about it here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/phila-pinball-multi-location-regional-league and http://www.philapinball.com

My vote is Railraod Street, I am 40 minutes away & go when I can. Pinball Gallery in Malvern has a bunch of machines too.

Are they trying to get an arcade in there again? Last time I was at zerns, it was sad.

Still sad; I make excuses to spend money there. I work close enough by that I can pop in on my lunch break. Honestly, I don't see them being there for too many more years... that's the saddest part, they'll celebrate their centennial anniversary in '22 if they last that long.

Remember when they had a Hercules where the yard-sale auction is now?

    #364 6 years ago

Honestly don't remember a Hercules there, but I never thought much of that arcade. Used to go to Zerns for the produce & bakery from the Amish, now that's all gone.

Would have been late 1980's, maybe into the early 90's. My dad used to drag us up there for the auto auction (and to give mom a night off). No real reason to go there now, I mostly just like to walk and people-watch and there are some truly busted people wandering around in there.

Fortunately my wife works near Shady Maple so we've got the produce and bakery stuff pretty well covered.

You've got the EM pinball covered too with Village arcade right there in St.Peters

Yeah, it really does. I don't jump on the hype wagon for much of the Lancaster county stuff but they run a solid operation. It helps that I do some charity stuff with the bigwigs there and know how big their hearts are, but I've done a lot of work on that campus with telephone and network cabling so I've seen every dark corner and can attest to it being one of the cleanest supermarkets I've ever peeked behind the curtains on. I also love that they will buy produce from any farmer who hauls it over to them which means they have a steady supply of fresh produce that didn't have to be trucked up from the terminal in Philly.

Seriously! One of these days I'm gonna offer to be his janitor in exchange for a spare key. My wife does yoga with his wife upstairs so it's not much of a stretch (pun intended).

Someone questioned recently if the Avengers pin was still at Xfinity.

Was there yesterday, it's still there. Right in the front of Victory. I didn't play it, but it was on. Could definitely use some work. It was very dirty and the backglass lights were out, as well as most of the GI.

Did you actually get to play it? My wife and I went to look last year and we were told adults could not go in to play machine.

I didn’t try and play it due to time constraints with my group but we walked around the arcade at will.

North Bowl supposedly has Star Wars. I don't want to add it to Pinball Map yet since I haven't seen it for myself. But if others have already spotted it there, let's get it added.

Can confirm, it's next to Can Crusher near the entrance.

Just returned from a very good session at the Barcade. All the pins were in great playing condition.

TAF was in exceptionally good condition. Strong flippers, friendly kickouts and a color DMD.

I broke the wrecking ball off of Junkyard with a shot. I told an employee and they were almost immediately starting to work on it. Wasn't up yet when I left but it seemed close.

Really fun experience. The few other times I was to this location before they had pins, a lot of the games were in rough shape, so I honestly wasn't expecting much.

    Would definitely recommend a visit.

Picked off a couple of the GCs

Blast! I knew my GC on Addams wouldn't last forever. Congrats and thanks for the heads up, I'll be coming for ya soon.

I like it. Bring it on!

That TAF is playing mighty friendly. I think 1B+ is a definite possibility. I was close to my 2nd Tour of the Mansion in that game which would have probably done it.

My 2018 goal is to get the majority of the GCs in Philly. The maps say they're are ~35 pins in Philly. Picked off a couple more at North Bowl last night. Current count 9/35

    CPWCPW

Pins at NBowl are playing decently.

SW is running old code which is a bummer.
    Can Crusher was off.
ST was playing slowish but otherwise fine.
GB was fine. Left kickout power is set low and consistently goes to the left flipper.
Kiss needs some love. Left flipper was fluttering every couple of seconds. Not unplayable, but needs attention.

    #379 6 years ago

    Stopped by South Bowl
    CPW 11/35CPW 11/35

    IM playing fine, albeit slow.
Mustang works well, but the level is off. Pulling right.
    Stones played fine.
ST had the warp ramp flipper stuck open. They can't seem to figure that flipper out. I've never seen it work at this location.

    #380 6 years ago

Junkyard at the Barcade is back up and playing nice.

    CPWCPW

Lunch special is an ok deal. $10 for a beer, 2 tacos and a side of nachos.
    Tacos were decent.
Calling them nachos is a bit of a stretch. Chips with some queso is what you get, but they compliment the meal well enough.

    GC count at 12/35

    #381 6 years ago

Stopped by South Philly Bar and Grill

Updated the map which had some outdated intel. They now have a T3 and a BDK.

T3 plays real nice. RPG actually works, which is something that I've rarely encountered in the wild.

BDK is a little banged up but works fully except the the joker doesn't spin.

Anyone know where the points are in BDK? I put up 170m which was good for #2 but the other scores were the defaults. GC at 240. My game was lengthy. Feel like I could grind it out but it won't be much fun. Guess I need to find a Bowen vid.

Hey folks, I just wanted to cross-post and send an update that we're in the middle of the Winter 2018 Season of the PHILA Pinball regional league and to spread the word that qualifying is still open for those that are interested in joining, especially if you're at these locations and playing pinball!

We have 33 machines at 11 different locations (4 of which are in Philadelphia City Limits), and you can play and post scores any time these locations are open. It's Best Game qualifying, and your best 8 games count. Top 32 will qualify for A Division Finals, and everyone else is welcome to play in the B Division Side Tournament.

Here's a (slightly over the top) promotional video for the PHILA Pinball League Winter 2018 Season.

Entry fee is only $10, and you can visit our website at:
    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/phila-pinball-multi-location-regional-league -> Main Pinside Thread

Aside from Pinside's own maps, I would also encourage people to check out pinballmap.com.

I'm seeing more locations within the past year adding one or two machines, but there may be more out "in the wild" that we're not aware of.

Put some plays on them both yesterday. Enjoyed both of them. Was expecting to love TNA and I did, but Houdini was a nice surprise. Guess I never really believed Houdini would actually be a thing. It's a beautiful looking game and was definitely fun for the couple games I got in. I'm eager to get some more games in on it.

They are currently right next to each other which is fun. The contrast in play is extreme. Hoping from one to the other was quite challenging and fun.

The lineup at the Gallery is beyond amazing at this point. Well done Bill!

Was at Q-mart today and they have a Walking dead pin. Everything works, I thought the game play was meh. Buck a game. Just letting you guys know.

What did they remove? Last lineup I saw was Ghostbusters, TSPP, Nascar, Rollercoaster Tycoon.

    #389 6 years ago

Pinball gallery has a great lineup but i was disappointed when last month many of the pins were down

and the FT needed some work.

    #390 6 years ago

Pinball Gallery seems to get them back up and running pretty quickly. I really enjoy Pinball Gallery. I haven't been there and noticed more than about 4 or 5 machines down out of roughly 60 to 70, so that doesn't seem too bad to me. Something is always going wrong when you have that many machines.

EDIT: Does anyone know a Philly location that has GOTG?

    Quoted from tbanthony:

I think Harrisburg is the closest GOTG

    #393 6 years ago

Pinball Gallery buys many of the new games but chose not to get a GOTG. I played one in Ohio over Christmas while visiting relatives and it didn't make a great first impression due to the state of the code, but I was interested in putting more time on one (especially after further code updates). Too bad the closest one isn't very close. I expect there will be one or more at Allentown in May.

We have one at River City, but you're looking at a 2 hour drive. There is a tournament this Saturday at 4pm if you want to come out.

Oh man, would have loved to play GB. That was gone, only played WD and thought it was so so.

    #397 6 years ago

My quest for all the Philly GCs took a couple steps backwards. UP reset all the scores. What's worse is RED had taken most of them. I reclaimed AS and GoT. Will have to make another lunch stop there again soon.

    Quoted from freddy:

    TWD, ST, AS, Got, GB

    #400 6 years ago

    Some interesting weekend updates:

Bumped into RED at UP. Apparently the owners caught wind of him posting TRUMP as his initials and that's what initiated the score resets. Additionally, he mentioned that as least GB has been reset several times recently just to erase his initials.

I'm assuming this pattern will continue. Hurts my domination of Philly plan but still kinda fun that there might be more reasonable scores to pick off.

I also stopped by Barcade. @coreyhulse, if you have any contact with whoever is maintaining their pins, MET needs attention.

Got there and noticed some dirty dog scores on MET. GC over a 1b and the rest close. While those scores are definitely possible, it seemed fishy.

Sure enough, Sparky is registering phantom hits. A lot. Like, you could cradle up and just wait for MB to start.

Not going to lie, it was fun to play. I didn't go for the scores, but anyone who really tried could likely get a couple billion. I watched a couple on a date walk up to it and they couldn't figure out how to start the pin. The score ended up being 160m to 130m. That would be unheard of for pinball newbies on MET.
Might actually be a good thing to bring in people. Definitely saw a couple other people enjoying their games. Pin is going to take a beating there in constant MB though.
