Sometimes it takes awhile, but damn does it feel good to close a case!

Flintstones is working again like it should.
The issues was definitely the opto in the 3-bank drop targets.
Great Lakes replacement board arrived today. Really, really high quality board!
It is a perfect fit (just needed washers that were a little thicker than the ones they sent).
I learned a ton about WPC and troubleshooting from everyone on this thread and can't thank you guys enough.

i was following along and learning as well! getting some stuff tomorrow to hopefully get my friends flintstones up and running. i swear it is as gratifying as a high score.

Just my luck.
Now the "K" in ROCK is triggering without being hit.
Is it possible my 4-bank PCB optos are also bad?
Ahhhhh!

I'm thinking its the opto again since it wil trigger randomly when the ball is bouncing off the pop bumpers, when I hit the flippers and when there is a wole lot of action.

And unfortunately it doesn't look like Great Lakes Modular makes a WPC 4-bank PCB.

Thoughts?

Clean opto's first and while your at it dissasemble and clean the gunk off
of the bank assembly.

Re-cleaning the optos is definitely going to be my first move.
When I shopped the game I did a full topside tear down and re-sleeved all the coils.
I also disassembled both drop targets to clean and re-decal. Used 91% iso alcohol to clean the optos but going to try windex this time. I've noticed iso alcohol leaves a light, white film sometimes.

All fixed again!
Popped open the playfield, put'er in switch test mode and got down to business.
Found that the wires in the molex for the 4-bank were just loose enough and when I jiggled them they tripped the switch.
Pushed them back in tightly, used a zip tie to bundle the wires better and all is well with everything again.
I also changed the U20 chip since I now have extras and it seems to be playing much smoother.
Not sure if the new chip made any difference but knowing its in there gives me piece of mind for only $0.95.
