My Williams Pat Hand adds 1000 points in threes over and over when it goes through the bonus score when the ball ends. It doesn't happen/doesn't happen as badly when the flippers are pressed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well, it wasn't the coil. It seems like whatever causes the coil to fire is stuck or something? Any ideas? Thanks.
Start up a game and work the bonus unit by hand. Make sure each time you press the up or down solenoid that it steps one unit. Either the unit isn't stepping properly and is repeating, of the control is telling it to triple the bonus.

Yes exactly. The reset solenoid doesn't count the bonus down or reset it. When I activate it by hand there is no problem with the bonus stepper.
Sorry to slightly hi-jack the thread, but is it safe to move the steppers by hand with the game on shock-wise? My machine is a Chicago Coin Showtime, not sure if it differs between brands.
