was troubleshooting my system 80B Raven game with a MA766 sound card. On startup there was a massive amount of white noise and garbage. The sound card would lock up and quit after the first ball (no flashy light) Traced the problem back to the SP 0250 speech emulator chip. Removed the chip from the board since it was socketed
and now CPU is fine doesn't lock up all songs play and seems like all other sounds are working
so what gives ? Any one know what the chip is used for ? I don't recall Raven having any call outs or voice ?
