Hello pinsiders, I require some assistance please. We were playing our LW3 tonight and during tri/multi-ball, the game stayed in that mode, and my wife was happy because she had over 200 million points before I turned off the machine. I have never seen a pin do that before, but the game went into a mode if its own. Every time the ball would drain, another would auto plunge and the recycle.

Anyone have any ideas on what to check for and where? I am just curious what would have caused such a problem. Fuses? Boards? Not sure where to begin. Thanks in advance for any assistance you may provide.

Problem unsolved.

Same thing happened with my jd, which has notorious ball trough issues. I'd agree it's somewhere there. Has it happened again/one time thing?

It's telling me two of the three center drop targets are not making contact. Cleaned contacts still nothing. When all three targets drop, it doesn't reset until the right drop targets drop and reset then all targets reset. Also tells me solenoids are good. When you play the pin, it's goes into continuous tri ball.

check the wires and diodes for the switches. Seems like a disconnected wire. I had my LW3 do the same thing when there is a switch issue.
They are gang wired so if one wire is off several will not work etc. There is for sure a switch issue thats why it stays in multiball as it has no idea where the balls are.
Just going to bed. I will check up on ya tomorrow. Cheers

Listen to hawk007, he's pretty much the ultimate LW3 guy. He helped me fix mine when the sounds were acting up and I had no idea what to do.

Thanks, will do. Fun game too.

Yes, follow hawk. My lw3 did that and it was a trough switch. My Dredd did it also because the trough opto board was hacked(operator removed connector and soldered direct). Same as switch on lw3 only opto light beam. Anyway wire broke off so I resoldered. For lw3 you may need a new switch.
