Well, if you do go the replacement route, I'd be happy to buy the faulty boards, which would help offset the cost a little. I wouldn't be offering a huge amount though, as I'm in the wrong country... shipping could add a bit!

If the machine's been closed (no sunlight or fluorescent light reaching the ROM windows), the ROMs have probably survived. But it's definitely good practice to cover them. Might as well take up thedefog's offer, to be sure.
