Whee, this morning I took a perfectly working LW3, and broke it. Not sure how, exactly. We have a JP that's been waiting for boards, so I figured I'd swap out the cpu and display boards from the LW3 and pop it in there. For some reason, it didn't seem to be working. I'd get a roar, but no further sound, and the game would turn off the lights and that'd be it. So I shrugged, and popped the boards back in the LW3 to make sure it wasn't the boards. Well, the CPU is fine, but apparently my display board just up and died. I've switched out and flipped every cable, checked the roms twice, and measured the 5 volts (4.7, not great, but it was working fine with that voltage before). It's gotta be the board. I've got a south park and two RCTs in house with working display boards, but they all have only one socket for the display ROM. Can you combine the two roms into one in any way? Or am I stuck trying to find a working data east one?

Woo, thank you. Do you just copy the text from rom 1 and paste it after the text from rom 0?
I'm gonna troubleshoot the display controller after I am sure it's not the cpu that's failed somehow. Everything Data East is not behaving for me today. I took the cpu from batman, which was also running, and put it in LW3, and it froze up with leds indicating a bad PIA. I'm cursed or something.

Edit: It also explains why it didn't work in JP, as the jumpers were probably not right.

Hmm, tried to combine the two roms, and got nothing on the DMD still. Would you mind linking to the image you have, or sending a copy to [email protected] ? That'd be incredibly helpful.

Thanks for the binary. Most awesome of you. Weird thing is now happening with that ROM: The display board clearly boots, and displays the version number, but keeps resetting, just blinking that over and over. It's a known good display board out of a south park. The same thing seems to happen with the south park rom in it. Works fine with the SP ROM in the SP itself. Does having a non-matching CPU version affect it at all?
