I decided to finally get around to checking all the fuses in all of my pins yesterday and I noticed when I got to LW the F-7 fuse was blown. This fuse is a 1/2 amp slo blo display reg. input 90vac I replaced it and the new one immediately blew. I did some research and it seems that this is a common issue with Data East games with problems with the power supply. My question is, I have a color Pin2DMD. I have one of those color dmd power adaptors that plugs directly into the top left spot on the power supply. Then the old plug that was there plugs into the wire tap. Does this seem ok to everyone? Just wondering if the color DMD is hooked up wrong and maybe that is what is blowing F-7. Also the game seems to work just fine with the fuse blown, so it is hard to tell how long it has been blown

If the game works with color dmd i wouldnt worry about it.that fuse is the high voltage and isnt needed for the color dmd to function .

I have the same issue but my DMD won't display anything.

From what I am researching when F-7 blows it is normally something that shorted on the power supply, a diode or something

Do you happen to know which diode?

Not off hand, I never checked mine yet. Look at the board for any burnt diodes. It may be obvious which one it is or it may be harder to find.

Check C1 it's always the first suspect with Data East power supply issues.

unplug the pin2dmd , if it still blows you know it isnt that. I had to get my power supply rebuild by eugene mosh, dude is awesome.

I would buy the high voltage power supply rebuild kit. It will fix most issues you are having blowing the F7 fuse.

I did unplug the pin2dmd ans it still blew. Sorry I'm new but what exactly does this mean? Thanks for the help!

If it blows with the power to the dmd unplugged you just eliminated that issue from the equation. That means the issue is more then likely on the power supply board and it will need to be replaced or rebuilt

If it blows with all the power supply's outputs disconnected it would be the bridge rectifier on PS.

Thats what my no fear was doing. Its was bad bridge.
