Looking through some old posts I see a reasonable lifter from Northern Tool, for those who bought it, how is is holding up? Any other reasonable options out there?

I'm in the market for a dolly right now too and interested in feedback on beefzap's questions.

Harbor Freight. Heard they have 2 to choose from.

Pinball skates are awesome an pretty affordable.

FYI they won't work with old super wide bodies like Paragon/Genie, etc.

I got the 500 lb harbor freight lift cart for $120 and i've moved 50 games (including paragon with it) with no problems. Had a friend help me bend the handle on it so I can get the platform centered underneath the games. smaller platform than a penguin, but it does the trick for shuffling stuff around the basement.liftcart.jpgliftcart.jpg

    Behold! This thread: http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/modified-harbor-freight-lift-table

I used the HF lift and did the hinge mod on mine. Works great and the hinges make for easy folding and taking to pick up new machines.

Ditto the above on the HF model. Go online and you can get a 25% off coupon. As I recall mine was right at $130 with tax so it's a tough value to beat--assuming you can get over the smell of the rubber matting . . .

hmm. what's the best option for transporting across a lawn? those wheels look like they'd be useless on grass. ideally i'd like to see something with tires like this:

I have this and it works great. Was a bonus in that I helped out a pinball supplier too!

Not knocking other options, just saying that this is also a good one.

Pinball Lifter guys are good guys.

We saw them at Expo while we were selling our shirts. Meant to pick one up before we left but it got kinda crazy and exhausting the last few days at expo.

I have Pinball Skates too, which have their own purpose, but after selling my wico lift because it didn't fit under a few of my games I'm going to get a pblifter/tilter too.

I went to check out the lifters and noticed an error in the URL - missing an "L" and a "T".

    Try this:

Question for anyone with the Harbor Freight carts.
The cart looks like it will do fine on a hard smooth surface such as concrete but would you trust stability if you had to regularly move pins across thick carpet?
I guess I could weld some "L" brackets on the bottom to mount larger castors on the wider wheel base but I am wondering if that might be necessary.

I've moved on carpet ok with mine. I'd call it typical home carpeting, not like 70s shag. If you're really concerned about stability, keep the height low enough to just lift the rear legs off the ground
