Anyone know how to fix a loudly humming/buzzing transformer?
I got no major speaker hum but the transformer itself hums like it forgot the lyrics to all songs in the world.

I have already tighten the nuts and banged on it a little, maybe I need too whack it harder!

Update: My transformer is now dead silent. I tried adding rubber washers, banging on it with a rubber mallet and tightening the nuts, nothing helped.

After removing the transformer for the forth time I thought to myself, maybe I'll skip mounting that metal panel behind it this time.
I did just that and now I could sleep with the pin on if I wanted to.

On my ToM the transformer is located in the back of the cabinet and had this plate behind it, I can't remember seeing the same thing in pins with a transformer located towards the front of the cabinet.

I hope I didn't create a major fire hazard for myself now.
