I met Iron Maiden doing signings at a record shop (Sam Goody maybe?) around '82-83 when they were in touring for Number of the Beast. All nice guys, very polite, and even with a long line of fans, either Bruce Dickinson or Steve Harris (not sure which after so many years) took a moment to answer my question why Total Eclipse didn't make it onto the album. I gotta admit, his English accent was so thick that I barely understood a word he said, but what a thrill for a headbanger.
