Gotta say...I like the Chinese massage parlor happy endings much better. I KNOW I wasn't the only one kinda hoping Lou was gonna tear you limb from limb, literally, and toss ya piece by piece down his driveway alongside his flooded and waterlogged Hulk machine.

Cool thread. As someone who had an incredible Hulk sleeping bag when I was a little kid to go along with my incredible hulk bedsheets etc.... it's cool to see him standing next to the Hulk pinball machine.... Think whatever you want of him as a person, he will always still be the character from the TV show.... & still nostalgic to some of us from that era. Beautiful freaking machine.
Glad to hear the happy ending--maybe more for the condition of the game after being outside than the interaction with Lou.

The empty boxes and crates were still strewn about. And since the place used to be a gym, there was still carpet on the floor! I'm like, "How are you gonna do any woodworking in here with carpet on the floor?" He looked all sheepish and said that he was still figuring out what to do. I said, "You better make sure this machine is outta here before you start throwing sawdust around," and we talked about me coming out again when that happens.

7th grade really is the top of the asshole parabola (for most of us). I remember how I was in 7th grade, and cringe.
I'm very satisfied with how this turned out. Good story. Be sure to shoot him a text to invite him down for pinball and a beer!
I'm thinkin many of the 7th graders in the SLO, CA area like their teacher Mr. Fireball2.

Still goofin off like when I was a teenager. 
I’m gonna attribute this to the fact that he lives in SLO. Living there will improve anyone’s mood about life. For anyone who hasn’t been there, you have no idea what a great place it is. It’s the best place to live in CA IMO. Like I told Mr Fireball, someday I will get back....someday.
Very cool story, thanks for sharing it with us. But did I miss the follow up of the 'box crushing'? You teased it, but I don't see the follow-through. Please tell me it involved Lou yelling "HULK SMASH" as he flattened the boxes.

No you didn't; I forgot about that until this afternoon... when I opened my van to get my tools...
This was one exchange where I didn't make myself clearly understood. After we had gotten the game out of the box, there were now even more giant pieces of cardboard everywhere to go with all the reinforced boxes the woodworking shtuff came in. We started talking about how the dump (which is like 10 minutes from his house) charges a minimum of 45 dollah, and how I was doing a dump run with my dad this weekend, and how my boy used to use a lot of cardboard building sets for his miniatures, and somehow after all this, he ended up thinking that I wanted all his excess cardboard. So yes, he did start stomping on it to flatten it. And before I realized what was going on, he had already started hauling pieces outside toward the van. So I took the big, sturdy box his lathe came in (it's almost the size of a coffin!) and the AC/DC LUCI box his machine came in, and told him that was really all I could use.
I am making a dump run tomorrow, so I will just drop them at the recycling station on my way in. Plenty of room in the trailer.
I might keep the coffin box tho...

If they say they didn’t, they did.....I had a professor in college that was THE leading expert on Steroid use in sports back in the 1980s. He worked with the NFLPA and was on ESPN as the expert analyst when Ben Johnson failed his Olympics test. He told our class that ALL the athletes did roids, and that the major sports league policies were nothing more than public relations items. The players knew how long stuff stayed in their systems. The leagues had set or announced drug testing dates. Players knew exactly when to start and stop their cycles to pass the tests. The guys who got caught just weren’t very bright. He also said humans can’t get as big as pro athletes do to the extent that they do on exercise and diet alone.

Arnold took a lot of steroids...and he has admitted to taking them...they ALL did (do).
Also...steroids in of themselves are not bad for you...in fact they can be very therapeutic. Only abusing steroids is bad for you (which many bodybuilders do).
It's possible to take steroids to the point of getting beyond your genetics (athletically) and still have no lasting ill effects. It's also really easy and common for athletes to think "if a little is good a lot must be better".

True. Also, just taking steroids doesn't make you big and strong. You still have to put the work in.

I once flew on a plane with Lou out of Tampa in the early 2000’s (well, he was in first class and I was in business class). Funny seeing how huge he was compared to others sitting around him. I chose not to whip him with my small talk as I walked by, figuring he probably had already had enough of a fan beating in the airport.
Looking back I should have Hulk flexed as I passed to see if I could have cracked a smile out of him or something.
