Teaser: He called me at school today. Luckily it's the last day of school, so I answered it while I signed kids' yearbooks. He told me the machine is going in the guest house ("Go left down the driveway..."), and that the machine has been sitting in the box in the guest house driveway since it came from Texas. Yes, we had those torrential rains that washed out Montecito since then.

He says, "I hope you know what you're doing..."
I say, "We'll find out together, baby."
He says, "Harumph."

T Minus 3 hours.

After he asked you if you knew what you were doing I would have told him to go fuck himself.

#4 4 years ago

Well, hopefully it's crated and covered well or what a shame.

#5 4 years ago

The "I hope you know what you're doing" was about the fact that he just told me how it had sat out all this time. I think he thinks it's prolly gonna be f'ed up.

Get your free picture with him next to the moldy cab and then leave

#7 4 years ago

What an ungrateful douchebag.
And you can tell him I said that.

#8 4 years ago

I think I would rather get a picture with someone that has talent.

Cant believe he left it outside all that time, was the pin partial payment for him to come to the show or did someone give it to him to be nice?

Change that. Please tell him I said that.

What's the background here?

There have been a couple threads, all very long, one at least was renamed and just shows pictures of some dude selling a book.

Help out those that don't read every post...

Jesus Christ

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.

Hopefully the cab is not made of that particle wood that swells up when wet. . . .

Don't make me sell it here!

Everyone is waiting to pounce on the poor guy. Sure, he has been a dick in the past but let's at least see how this turns out before the pitchforks start swinging.

Please make this another Ted thread.

Lou Ferrigno was at TPF and the nice folks at TPF gave him a "imamaculate" Hulk pinball machine as a thank you, do not think it was part of the payment. (it was super nice I saw it and if you dont get that joke you need to check out the baywatch fs thread)

Hulk asked the folks who gave it to him if they knew anyone who could set it up. OP was the man who stepped up to the plate. First thread people started talking about how shitty Lou is to people with a lot of people chiming in agreeing that he sucks with their own stories. That thread was asked by its OP to be closed then fireball2 made the next thread which turned into the ted talk as Lou kept delaying the game set up.

Fast forward to today when fireball2 gets to meet Lou and set up his (potentially) water damaged solid state pinball machine

InfiniteLives I respectfully request that you summarize all long pinside threads. Thank you!

Ed did tell me they wrapped the machine in plastic before it went into the box, and I think there may have been plastic around the box too, but I'm not sure. Still... I hope it's not a mushy mess.

We's gonna find out in less than two hours...

Gotta go pack up tools and get pumped for the flex-off pic. Mebbe get some plastic bags for the salvage.

Nice job Lloyd; short and covers everything well, with a bit of personality. A+ for mad summarization skillz.

Sorry Mang, didn't have my Dollah Sto' reading spex on. A+ for you!

Update: We've been texting back and forth about a bodybuilder guy I knew back in the day. He won't admit knowing him because...
"Trying to make me old? lol."

Softening the target. You watch, we'll be BFFs by the end of this.

#28 4 years ago

"Nothing easily obtained is worth having"...or whatever that quote is it comes to mind here. Can you imagine anyone treating a wonderful gift like this with such disregard? Where is the basic respect for people, even simple common sense? Let's hope for the best for the condition of that pin despite. Good Luck OP (sneak away for a live update here and there) !!

My money's on this.

For those that don't know the OP, Mark is the kind of guy that makes friends easily.

Super happy that we finally get to find out how it goes.

Mark this will be easy for you to do. Show up with your Hot Dog hat on! I dare you

#32 4 years ago

I agree, with Fireball2's natural charm going strong, Lou will be best buds after this encounter!

#33 4 years ago

Give Lou a break, he probably has one walk on tv part and 5 weekends at conventions EVERY YEAR! He's swamped! Besides, the dude isn't in good shape. Probably not strong enough to move it onto a dolly and into the garage.

#34 4 years ago

In for updates!

#35 4 years ago

Ask Lou if he would prefer a Baywatch machine with only 600 plays in 12 years and no legs (maybe Hulk ripped them off).

Two great minds think alike.

#46 4 years ago

you'll know its bad without even opening it if the shipping box is all spongy from the recent rains, but hopefully this isn't the case and he's just moved it there for your convenience <fingers crossed>

I think we found your new nickname, lol

#49 4 years ago

OK Boiz, it's a done deal. I showed up early, like I do, and got home early.
But before I do the reveal, I want you to put your money where your mouth is, so to speak. I added a poll, and before I post any info about how it went, I want to see how you THINK it went down. I'ma make some dinner, grab a beer, and be back in a while to see what everybody sez.

Then I will tell all.
