Is there a tremendous difference in the play of LOTR between these two ROM versions? Please chime in if you have experience playing on both.

Since my upgrade to 10.0 the bugs are gone, flippers keep strong the whole game. And there are a lot of extra sounds in the game.

Awesome. Thanks for the input! I have noticed a number of funny quirks which I thought were bugs but since I'm totally new to pinball ownership and have little experience I did not know for sure what the deal was. I was starting to think maybe I made a mistake in getting the LOTR. Also, about the flippers, my son keeps telling me he smells the machine as we play. We had a house fire a couple of years ago and he is really sensitive to the smell apparently.
Was it pretty easy to switch out the ROM?
Just upgraded it tonight. So, far it definitely seems less buggy and more fun to play. This was a very worthwhile $20.

I ordered my ROM from www.pinballroms.com
It was very easy and fast. I bought the ROM puller but that was probably wasted money as a screwdriver was more efficient at getting the old ROM out.
I don't know about the shaker support.
