LOTR sound works when it feels like it

LOTR has been doing some weird sound issues the past year. When it boots up, you hear the speakers make that startup pop noise. But 90% of the time the game doesn't have any sound at all. Sometimes if I turn it off and back on, the sound will work fine. Sometimes it will stay on for hours. I leave the game on thinking some caps somewhere are getting dried out and need to charge, but I come back hour later and start a game (after sound was working) and then the sound isn't working again.

Tried reseating connectors
Tried reseating chips

This is on a standard LOTR with 10.0 roms, 6th run, 2007.

LED1 on the CPU board shows that the sound section is running. LED2 shows that the necessary 3.3v is present to run the sound board. If LED1 is going out, the sound section is stopping, so Is it lit? Could also be that a sound chip is going bad, some good info here https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/lotr-sound-now-gone

Pinsound is awesome and should fix sound issues if you can’t get it fixed. Even if you do it’s worth the money imho (together with TheWool mix)
