My LOTR magnet doesn't seem to grab and hold the ball at the start of a mode. The menu tech doesn't show any errors. The optos and through switch are working in the test menu.Bad magnet coil?
Where to buy parts?.and how to fix?.
Thanks Pinside!

It's been awhile but I think - I think, mind you - that it needs to see the switch at the bottom of the ramp in order to turn the magnet on as the ball is approaching. Is that working okay?

Does the magnet work at all or just not when the ball is passing it? You have a ring magnet test for that in the menu.
If it doesn't work at all, chances are the corresponding fuse is blown (F20). It should have a 4A slow blow fuse. I believe the standard was a 3A slow blow but that wasn't enough so they changed it to 4A.

I don't believe it's the case that the ring magnet only activates through the spinner switch. The ring opto turns on the magnet (as well?).
