Hi,

When I play with one player, I never have reset issues. From 2 to 4, it happens randomly and keeps resetting for multiple times.

I do not have a clue about the origin of this.

Can someone help me ?
Thanks

Original board or Rottendog Board?

Ive seen the plug get brittle and cause resets for the power going into the cpu. Perhaps a 2 to 4 player game taxes the cpu current wise to push it over the edge.

This is the original Stern board. The resets occur always in multiball mode

First thing to do is to reseat J16 on the driver board, the connector tends to get brittle and burnt causing low voltage resets.
See http://pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Sega/Stern_White_Star_Repair for more info, section 4.3

It's easy to confirm that it's a low voltage reset, just remove the backglass and pay attention to the watchdog LED.
I'd not start playing with adjusting the voltage with the R116 adjustment pot, at least not before you've validated that it's too low on the driver board

The fluorescent lamp in all sterns over time will actually degrade the plastic connectors. I would upgrade to led in place of the fluorescent tube.

I checked the 5vdc on the CPU based on the picture of pinwiki, I measure 5,03vdc.

I put some contact spray on j16.

Lets see what happens

Do you have a lot of powered mods installed?

No mod at all

I have seen resets on a Monopoly and a Shrek caused by the fluorescent tube circuit. Transformer, starter, tube can all be bad.
