You could always get Herg's LED OCD board for LOTR. This fixes any strobing, flicker, ghosting, etc from the controlled lights and has tremendous customization for power levels, etc...

Quoted from MapleSyrup:

As an update to this older thread, I have since removed the LEDs from all 9 Fellowship indicator lights. The pulsing caused even the premium non-ghosting lights to strobe wildly... it was quite distracting. Slowly tweaking things to get the balance right. Really not playing the game though since STLE came home! Again, thanks to everybody who chimed in. This process really made me love Pinside. All the help, and encouragement was really cool.

Strange, I have CT premium non ghosting frosteds in all my inserts and have no ghosting or strobing in any insert except for some reason the shooter lane insert for the "lane," not sure why. Btw, put an orange 906 flasher in the slot above the tower, really shows the "eye."

I had no luck w/a coin taker kit for NGG. I bought the premium but it was blinding in the lower playfield. They were great, allowing me to retune it.

I like some Pinball Life samples I bought better.

Anyone have a shopping list from PBL on what to purchase for LOTR LED conversion?

I love LEDS, however, LOTR is the only DMD game where I prefer the original incads. It just suits the theme and the playfield colour perfectly. LEDS just seem to be much to overpowering and just don't suit the game. My 2c but to each there own.
