after a lengthy get-together at my house my LOTR machine had in interesting failure that I haven't been able to solve with google searches, etc. Basically, it seems like the plastic extension to the Gimli VUK broke off of the shaft of the solenoid. Has anyone had to (or been able to) fix this before without replacing the entire part? I feel like there should_ be a simple fix but haven't found anything on my own

Drill remaining plastic out the metal shaft. Get a piece of round nylon/plastic the needed diameter. Cut to length. Glue or pound into end of plunger.

Or if you don't want to spend time finding this stuff, and making trial pieces. Break down and buy a new one. It should last 15 years, same as last one. Maybe longer in home use.

Only $12.95, just replace the part so the game will work right without trial and error jerry-rigging:

I don't know how I missed this -- thank you!! Also thanks to LTG for a detailed fix description and essentially proving that a new plunger was more practical

for some reason I never came across this plunger replacement and was trying to avoid replacing the whole solenoid assembly as if that was the only option..

thanks!
