Hey guys, behind Orthanc on my LOTR there is a post that seems to pop up every now and then, but I feel like it never fully goes down. Even when no mode is running and I have already collected Pippin, I have to hit the ball SUPER hard to get it past the post into Barad dur.. Is this the Modus-operandi? OR should it just pop up and pop back down. Maybe a possible coil sleeve issue?

THANKS!

It should be below the PF. Look at the mech and coil. The post comes up to make the ball drop into the VUK.

It should be down and pop up during war of the ents or other times it’s supposed to diverted into the orthanc vuk. I had that problem before and with mine part of the wiring harness had come loose and was binding it so it wouldn’t fall down when not engaged. As flynnibus noted, checking coil and mech is way to go. You can also test the coil in single coil test mode. Should just pop up and down. Think it’s like number 13 “orbit pin”.

HAHA yep, #13 looks like a wet noodle when running a test. Thanks, I'll give it a shot under the hood

Just to clarify, when testing the coil, it will pop up quickly AND quickly pop back down and that means it’s operating right.....just needs to be coming up fully where it would stop the ball and falling below where it wouldn’t impede the ball. With mine, before I figured out it was wiring that was binding it, it would fire but not fall completely back down or you could hear it firing but would not pop up above the playfield, depending on how the wiring had shifted as I had raised and lowered the playfield trying to troubleshoot. I don’t know that loose wiring is your problem but I had come across that as a solution on a thread here or on rgp and it was what was wrong in my case. If it’s not got wiring binding it, the coil sleeve, plunger or whatever mechs is what I’d check as flynnibus originally suggested

Thanks, yes, the loose wiring was the problem
