A little help here would be great.

I have recently picked up a LOTR. The Balrog was not lit up at all. I've opened him up and discovered that he has the old original #89 socket. I have installed both an LED flasher and an incandescent flasher and both of these burnt out within minutes. However, I noticed that, with a new lamp installed, he is constantly lit up. Even when he is not activated. And i dont mean flashing either. He is lit up solid. This is clearly not right and would explain why the lamps are buying out.

Can anybody suggest where I should start looking for the problem please?

I should mention that the previous owner told me that they installed a new wire harness a short time before selling me the game.

The Balrog functions correctly otherwise - registers hits and moves as it should.
