Quoted from ThatOneDude:

Can someone share a pic of the little mechanism that drops the drop target for the snagger? I have most of the assembly, but I am missing the little bracket that holds it on to the larger mechanism. I am including a picture of the part of the mech that I have. The part I need is the bracket that holds this to the snagger. If you happen to have one handy that can be measured, that's even better. Or, if you have one you would sell, that works, too.
[quoted image]

The top of the coil that holds the arm down is busted off on mine.

Quoted from K-Reeb:

Sorry to be late to the game, but here is a pic of my start button as well as some pics of the drop target bracket being discussed. I can take more if needed from different angles.
I have been having issues with my drop target for the past few months; the target stopped dropping during ball lock. I think I just have to tighten a few screws and it should be fine. Worst-case, I may need to add a little length to the poker as it doesn't seem to be reaching the drop target.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I have just rebuilt a snagger and drop target assembly on a service call. Check to see your drop target trip coil assembly looks like this.

The one I serviced had the top portion broken off. This resulted in the plate being too far away from the coil to pull in and drop target.

Quoted from K-Reeb:

After adjusting the bracket, it is properly making contact with the drop target when I press it down, but still no luck in regaining total functionality.
The coil is not firing in test mode. The brown and brown/violet wire connections were replaced with alligator clips prior to me buying it last year; they're a little looser than I'd like and maybe that's the issue. The coil was also replaced 2-3 years ago, but it could have gone bad since.
I'll start with the wires and order a new coil if that doesn't work.

You need to test the resistance of the coil itself. If the coils tests ok, then you have to test the transistor on the board in the head. It’s a tip 122 transistor, upgrade it to a tip102.

Does anyone know the rom revision history going from 1.0 to 2.0?

That big Dino is really nice. Nice position as well.

One other mod to consider is adding a light strip along the back of the game. Full length of the backboard. I think a yellow strip would be perfect.

On other games I make sure I aim the light towards the backboard, not at the playfield This illuminated the entire back of the game without the glare or reflection of the LEDs of the strip.

Quoted from Deafman013:

Hi Stebel,
Great idea and have just ordered led strip for the rear to make it look even better.
Cheers
Brett

Post before and after pics when you do the install.

I don’t actually own this game. I just fix it for a customer. He won’t sell it to me!! Hard to come by otherwise.

I just added a yellow strip to Congo and the results were splendid.

Added yellow strip to the back of customer’s game and a cool white strip for the outhole.

Next up: pop bumper rings.

Does anyone know if possible to get new cabinet sticker for the cabinets?
Ours is pretty worn out around the flipper buttons and few scratches down the side where book shelve came off the wall and damaged it.

I haven’t seen any cab decals. You can always get lollipop rails to hide the flipper button wear. There are even half ass end of the lollipop rails you can get for just flipper area if you don’t want to change the entire rail.

The easiest solution is to buy more pinballs. Games side by side cover up any scratches or blemishes.

Quoted from Spazpeker:

Hi, my CPU card battery leaked and ruined the board, I bought a new Bally board and everything seemed to work ok,
However I tried to setup my snagger and under the diagnostics there is only one Lost icon to test the playfield magnet that works ok.
the snagger motor does not appear in the menu.page 30 of the manual.
also under adjustments page 38, item 49 says not used instead of Snagger enabled.
any ideas ?

What rom revision are you running?

Just shopping out my Lost World. Of course I didn’t take the correct pics and I have a few standoffs left over. Added some lights and other things I thought I would share. Only about half way through, pop bumper rebuild is next. Snagger needs a new belt as well.

Added light strip to the back of the ball guide in the upper left area. You can see before and after pic.

For the Raptor targets, added a lights strip behind the targets, stuck it to the wooden rail. Took red flex LEDs and bent to shine through the targets.

Added all translucent posts to the game instead of black. I lit up the one under the sling. They get washed out as soon as the GI is added. I use double brite, cool white LEDs.

Couple other light strips added. Under the Dino plastic in the shooter lane and a strip at the outhole as well.

Quoted from Socashi:

New owner of a RE import lost world machine. The cabs in rough shape but the playfield looking solid aside from a few wear spots. Hoping to sand down repaint and find some decent graphics for the sides. I was wondering if anyone knows much about the magnet hold in the back playfield and if replacements can be found and if its supposed to be flush with the playfield or stick up. I have a picture of mine which looks pretty worn down.
[quoted image]

In your case with the edges so peened over I would recommend taking the cord out through the top. This will prevent any damage to your playfield. See picture for bottom of unit.

You can loosen the jam nut, and spin the core out the top with a screw driver.

I was lucky that not much or any loctite was applied to my core and I could spin it out.

Then I just put the core on the lathe and machined the top flat again.

Quoted from Socashi:

Took a look and im guessing its these threaded core plugs?

Thank you for the image and advice on how to remove it, The jam nut is on there super tight. hoping I get get it loosened later tonight and take that bolt off.

It is a threaded core so you can get it flush with the playfield, once you get it all fixed up.

It is very awkward to work on this playfield. I wish it had a different system to slide out and up.

Quoted from SimplePin:

My timing belt in the snagger broke today. The black thin one in the front of snagger. Not the wide one that goes under the playfield. Wondering if anyone has replaced this before and has any pics, tips or other advice on the simplest way to replace the belt. The part is only 8 bucks at Marco so that's good.
Wondering if I should replace them both while I'm at it. But I'm a strong believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it!
Thanks!

No need to replace the other thicker timing belt. It is very robust. The thin black one is the one that get destroyed when things snag or go wrong.

Quoted from SimplePin:

Finally got around to replacing the black timing belt. Re-assembled the mech. Now what? Nothing happens and I can't get either of the two snagger tests to run. Is there a trick? Is there something I missed? I didn't touch anything under the playfield but everything looks ok after poking around.

Is the drop target lowered?

Does the screen show the snagger in the home positon?

Is the drop target lowered / down?

Does the screen show the home position of the snagger ? Did you change the belt with with snagger extended or in the up position?

#527 1 year ago
Quoted from SimplePin:

Extended as that was where it ended up when the belt broke. Should I rebuild in the home position?

Extended is the way I change mine too.

When the belt is broken or stripped, I cut off the belt. Go into snagger test mode and operate the snagger motor until it activates the down opto (#36). Now I am ready to replace the belt in the extended position.

This way, if I am off a little bit I can follow the manual and make the new belt “click”
one tooth in the direction needed to have the timing correct for the snagger.

Quoted from SimplePin:

I have replaced my belt and the snagger is now going up and down however when the it tries to drop the ball into the truck the bottom section of snagger isn't close enough to the front of the truck for the ball to fall through the roof of the truck. I'm not seeing this "click" method in the manual. Which belt are you clicking one tooth to adjust. the red or the black?
Thanks!

The black belt. The rubber one is the belt you “click” one tooth.

In the manual it describes the one tooth click adjustment, it also gives an option to manipulate the opto board to align snagger.

Quoted from dung:

Got one today. Is there supposed to be a delay after you hit start? Dmd changes to show ball 1 and then the game sits for 3-5 seconds before kick a ball into the shooter lane and running the intro animation.

What version of game ROM do you have installed?

The animated intro on ball 1 is long! Shows island and Trex, then cuts to skill shot animation instructions to crush people.

Quoted from CaptainStabbin:Also, does anybody know if any insert decals exist? The big circular insert on mine that is in front of baby t-Rex egg that has part of the baby t-Rex foot art work on it had completely flaked off of the playfield. I have it held back down with tape for now but it’s destroyed. Not sure what caused that, because my playfield is actually pretty nice. Possibly some kind of adhesion issue on that insert/heat from the old bulbs? Does anyone know if any decals exist for this or have any recommendations? I’m good with the mechanical and electrical side of things, but artwork is my weak side.
[quoted image]

Never seen decals. Mylar patch maybe your best option if you can’t make a decal yourself.

Hi everyone. As an promo plastic collector, it always bothered me that Lost World didn’t come with a key fob in the plastic set.
I asked Pinball Life if they could make a key fob in the shape of the topper. They made it and it’s only $2.
