Hey everybody! I decided to put out a pinball podcast. The first episode is super short as just an introduction. I've submitted my podcast to different sites to get up on podcast registries but I'm getting told that could be days. So if you want to check it out today, go to:

We were having issues with the new episode showing up on anything besides Soundcloud. The issue has been resolved for everything except iTunes. Still hard at work trying to get Apple to respond and fixed the issue.
Apple was able to fix the problem and now the podcast should be up for your listening pleasure! (Or at least within 24 hours)
Scott and I didn't mention this last week but we are going to be doing the podcast on a bi-weekly basis. So no podcast today. See you next week!

I appreciate the feedback adamross and @yeoldpinplayer. I did forget about that episode and I'll have to go back and check it out since it has been forever. Also I agree with you adamross that we shouldn't assume everyone listening knows all of our guests. We will have to work on having better intros going forward. As far as the audio quality on that episode, I don't know why but Martin's microphone was having a hard time picking him up. I tried to fixed in editing and that was the best I could get. Thanks again for listening!

Samples are in for our beanies! These little guys are awesome! The striped ones are New Era. The inside are fleeced lined and are are super comfortable. They are one size fits all. Seriously, I tried one on for half an hour and when i took it off, my head was radiating heat. (Like after you jump out of the hot tub in cold weather. What, just me?) These beanies are WARM!
The other 2 beanies are for something that doesn't necessarily want flashy or a pom pom on their head. The one with the brim is for bigger head, the one without is for smaller heads.

Hey everybody! Tomorrow the TWIPy voting will open and you may be shocked to find that LoserKid Pinball Podcast didn't make it to the drop down menu for "Favorite Pinball Podcast". We were shocked as well. Well Josh was, not Scott .
Some of you might want to bring attention to a "flawed" voting system but we here at LoserKid ask you to still support the TWIPYs and to not use us as part of the "flawed" voting argument. Scott and Josh both didn't campaign for pre voting and didn't push for people to get out and vote on the podcast.
We also ask that your focus and support should be on those in the hobby that have lost their jobs or lost their loved ones. It's been a rough year for everyone and to bring drama from a pinball award would just be silly in the grand scheme of things.
So get out and support those that did make the list and also Jeff Patterson and Co. They put a lot of hard work in for this event each year.
Also thank you to everyone that supported our 50th episode! Never would we have thought we would have made friends with such amazing people in this community. We wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.

Sadly, I think this interview shows how sheltered the thought leaders are at the company. They're in their own worlds so deep that they can't see the bigger picture. Their thoughts and intentions are so niche, that they're a sliver of a sliver of what the pinball playing population can grasp (or care to grasp), and they completely fail to address what matters most: appealing to anyone on this planet that approaches a machine.
I'm enough of a pinball nerd that I can generally understand where they're coming from as they try to explain their thought processes, but American needs to sell games and build a catalog that it can (1) point to and (2) continue to revisit and produce... and based on what we've seen and heard in the last few years, they're incredibly far off target. It blows my mind that they've chosen this path... and continued down this path. And the fact that David Fix took enjoyment in reminiscing about the possibility of what almost was – a game about collecting pinball parts, building a machine, putting it in a box, and getting it out the door – scares me.
I don't get it. It's almost as if American is purposefully releasing titles that will only demand small runs. 100, maybe 150 games.
Barry O was a great designer. He made legendary games. But, if they intended this game to be on location at BBQ restaurants and bars, it needs to be appealing to one and only one audience: Joe Public.
For example: Hit enough balls into a giant (and obvious) smoker, then knockdown a set of targets and you win a free beer... or free wings...
Games need to be simple and/or immediately appealing, with a secondary layer of complexity for the home buyer.
This BBQ game and the excitement they have about it... I mean... I'm at a loss of words. I completely fail to see any connection to creating something that will engender novice interest and collector curiosity.
Couldn't have said it better. I've learned though over my years in this community that what seems like what a company motives and directions should be isn't what they are aiming for behind closed doors. I'm glad the American team was so enthusiastic to work on this game but it does make you wonder what the future holds for American.
