What’s the name of the movie again? I volunteer as tribute, but in return please don’t make me go scrubbing back and forth through the episode looking for it, lol.

In October of 1995, Alanis Morissette released her third and most critically-acclaimed studio album “Jagged Little Pill.”

The album was conceptual in nature, an autobiographical account of the artist’s recent nasty breakup with her boyfriend, who becomes the antagonist in the story that organically unfolds as the songs progress. For many years, the identity of her former lover remained a mystery, save that he was a semi-famous Canadian celebrity. Eventually, more details emerged, but this was where the story took a turn: the media discovered that the man’s name was Dave, and before long, standup comic and Full House alum Dave Coulier was speculated to be the man about whom Jagged Little Pill had been written. While never officially confirmed, this rumor eventually became acknowledged as truth and the world moved on.

However, as my fellow die hard Alanis fans know, that man named Dave was not our beloved Uncle Joey, but was in fact none other than popular pinball personality and mild mannered financial advisor Dave Dennis.

My feelings about this matter are complicated. On the one hand, Alanis and I can obviously never forgive Mr. Dennis for breaking her heart and walking away leaving her to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild her life without him. On the other hand, without his heinous, heartless heartless act and the emotional pain that resulted, Jagged Little Pill never would’ve been recorded and the world would’ve been deprived of a bona fide artistic masterpiece.

Anyway all that to say, I don’t know if we’re supposed to be choosing sides on this David vs. Joel beef but I know I like Joel so I pick him.
