Not sure if anyone posted this before (I'm sure they have, but I can't find it) but Im curious to hear stories about times where you may have lost your cool on your machine. Maybe you were one shot away from completing a wizard mode... Maybe your game was just been a drain monster all night... Whatever it may have been, feel free to share.

I'll be the first to admit I've slammed my hand down pretty had on the glass of my MMR a few times, or slapped the flipper button harder than I likely should have. Funny thing is though, out of the 4 games I have, that is the only one I've ever done that with. Not sure what it is about the game, but it doesn't always bring out the best in me.

    Share your stories!

I have a sort of seizure and stiffen up like a board and yell a strained "No! Piece of shit!" every time my ball drains. I'm a bad role model for my kids.

You should NEVER loose shit on your pin, it gets very messy.

    #4 6 years ago

I typically back up and scream fu%& as loud as I can... I would never hit my games.

    #5 6 years ago

one time i got so frustrated and kicked my pin's leg.
and i a still have to hear how funny it looked evenmore because i said sorry to the pin afterwards , cause my son was standing in the room

    #6 6 years ago

Haha, some good stories here. I actually slapped the wall beside one of my game and split the drywall a bit. Next day, my wife asked "why is there putty on the wall?"

When my son is around, I sort of bite my tongue, and just do a very fake smile (meanwhile I'm seething inside haha).

I was at a local pinball thing and saw a machine with glass bits all over the pf, and it's pretty clear someone really lost their sh!t on that game!

I'm making a resolution to not whack MMR anymore haha. I treat all the other games with lots of love, so strangely, I'm cruelest to my favourite game of all time.

    #7 6 years ago

My games cost me too much money for me to lose my cool on them. I'm also getting older now and it takes alot more for me to lose my shit, although it is still possible to get me there if you keep pushing the right buttons. Getting older and growing up though has done wonders for my temper, and believe me I used to have a bad one at one time. Now I just don't care about the small stuff like that.

Oh, I see. You are suggesting that the player actually defecates on his pin. Hilarious.

    So clever.

Abusing a pin you own doesn't make sense, it's like keying your own car.

    #10 6 years ago

I think it's hilarious that almost everyone I know seems to think I abuse games, but yet I've never broken glass, dented a lockdown bar, bent a leg, etc etc etc. I've slapped PLENTY of glass...there's a right way and a wrong way, apparently. =Þ

I'm a big fan of the "mock kick" these days. Just the non-contact motion of looking like I'm gonna kick in the coin door, but not actually making contact.

    Quoted from Damien:

I'm cruelest to my favourite game of all time.

That's because those games are MOTHER______ SON _ B____ AS_____ BARBRA STREISAND JER____ TRAITORS.

    #11 6 years ago

I don't generally rage in anger with pinball... it starts off as a way to relax in fact. However, inevitably there are a few games where I am one or two shots away from awesomeness only to have it drain or worse, get stuck on something. In those cases now I don't punch or slam the machine but my head just drops in disappointment and I go pour a drink.

    #12 6 years ago

I usually yell f$&@ and do a spin

    #13 6 years ago

My cat lost his sh!t on my pin, does that count?

slapping the glass is never good. My buddy sent me this picture from one of his locations. Titanium ring vs glass

That's why I use my right hand... my ring is tungsten LOL.

Well noone seems to have caught it except Levi, but the op said Loosing when I'm sure he meant losing. Frankly, I don't understand why so many people don't know how to spell lose or losing. There is only one "o" not two.

It's also interesting that so many people don't know that "no one" is two words, and "noone" is not a word.

There is only one "o" in each word here too.

    #19 6 years ago

Not much anymore...but they're made to take the abuse.

I'll still smack a lock down bar now and again.

Aaaaahahahaha. Nothing beats someone correcting another person whilst making the same error. People are awesome!

My phone auto-corrected and put 2 o's instead of 1... Glad "noone" else got upset about it

    #21 6 years ago

I've gotten pretty animated at times, but no permanent damage (so far).

That means no more cab slap nudging...

I had the last ball in the outlane the other day, and I shook it pretty hard to try to get it back into the game. Funny thing is, I saved it, but didn't realize and kept shaking just to have it drain. Hahaha.

    #24 6 years ago

Ive yelled at every single one of my pins calling them every filthy, nasty, vile word i can possibly think of. Shit happens when your pissed. But i never hit them.

    #25 6 years ago

Ever since I bought game of thrones I’ve had a nasty habit of smashing the lockdown bar at the end of each ball. GoT has a end of ball cash in where you hit the button on the lockdown bar to turn your multiplier into points. Usually you hit it as the ball drains to cash in for any extra points that are available.

Unfortunately this habit has evolved into hitting every game when a ball drains. Force of habit, I don’t mean to do it always.

    #26 6 years ago

I can't spell loose because when I was in school I learned Phonics. o*e is a O sound and oo is a oooohhh sound. Lose looks like loze.

Some people fart while playing. Others loose it...

    #28 6 years ago

I scream, curse and yell like a baby sometimes. Pretty pathetic over a game. At least we are passionate about our hobby.........

    #29 6 years ago

Sorry but smacking, slapping, hitting or kicking a pin is the dumbest thing I've heard of. Of course I'm the guy jumping up and down, waving my first in the air while cursing like a sailor.

    #30 6 years ago

Yeah, I have been known to scream F*** as loud as possible. Happened today. I was one castle away from BFTK on my MMR (had everything else lit) and shot the left ramp only to have it hit the slingshot plastic edge and jump over the metal to the outlane and drain. I was glad no neighbors were walking by. They would have thought I was abusing my wife lol

    #31 6 years ago

    I never strike the machine....

But I'll throw my hands up in frustration while turning/walking away and cursing. Only to return to the pin to get my ass kicked again.

    Rinse and repeat

    #32 6 years ago

    Kick a Chair FTW!

    #33 6 years ago

My brother lives above one of our pizzerias and can hear me stomping my feet in anger from time to time... Pinball never relaxes me.

    #34 6 years ago

I’ll give my pin a nice shrug, and add a nasty word once in awhile..gotta make sure the tilt is still working...I’ve never hit/kicked it thou..

    #35 6 years ago

I save the beatings for my wife. I've never hit a pin.

It was a grammar police joke, not a shit joke.

RTS must stand for "Ridin' the schlong" cause that seems to be your M.O. when it comes to me.

Of course No one is two words. I was talking about Peter Noone.
Where is Odin to back me up on this.

I never use no one anyway as it sounds stupid. You are always better off with nobody.

    I'm sorry; no body.

    #41 6 years ago

i was three shots from beating MM and when the ball drained, i screamed "NOOOOO! DAMMIT". made someone upstairs come check to see if i was ok lol

    #42 6 years ago

I used to have pinball parties at my home. But never again.

I've seen pinheads hit my games so hard its broke the tack weld on the lock down bar. Plus, I've seen them shake them so hard it's damaged (wrinkled) the artwork on the legs. They are on "Free Play" no need to beat them down

    I don't' / I won't treat anyone's games, even on location like that.

The thread was more about just getting pissed at your machine and giving it a little whack. It's nothing I'm proud of or even want to do, but the truth is, the game sometimes gets the better of me.

I am grateful to own my pins, and treat them with a lot of care, but for some reason, my MMR brings out the crazy in me at times. Something I'm definitely trying to temper, as I'd greatly regret ever damaging these great games.

Anyhow, the thread is more an opportunity for pinheads to open up and admit to moments they may not be that proud of

    #44 6 years ago

    Fuck this frustrating pinball shit!

I would still have pinball parties but the guy getting that rough with my games wouldn't be invited back over ever again unless he stopped doing that. No way would I put up with that crap for one second.

Did anyone catch the recent clip from a live stream of the guy playing ACDC and going completely bonkers on the machine? Kicked it. Lifted it up and slammed it down. It was a whole petulant child routine and pretty embarrassing. I want to say it was branded Buffalo Pinball but I could be wrong. I saw it within the last month. I can't find it now, it must have been taken down.

We had a pair of guests on our location who did this to our Metallica last weekend. Needless to say, they were promptly escorted out of the bar and are now on the blacklist.

I've slapped my laptop keyboard on Pinside a couple of times.

AFM, not mine but a friends and I had to restrain myself. Rule the Universe lit, ready to go. Never made it there before. Ball 2 due to having a few extra balls from a stellar game.

Drain. Ball 3. Drain. Shook the absolute shit out of the machine to try to save it from the outlane but no dice. Came very close to actually kicking it but didn't. Was the most frustrating drain ever. I spent the entire time shooting the scoop and either just missing or having it lip out around the edge. Redemption came a few months later when I played another AFM on location and made it to rule the universe.
