One thing I haven't seen talked about yet is that the Elwin JP topper fits on this, and is getting some code integration with the home pin according to Jack.

Had a few long balls but overall it was pretty short ball times. It ships with the outlane posts at widest, and i didnt even realize until the end that the tilt bob was wrapped and zip tied, so next time it will be even harder to nudge around haha. It fast and sorta mean at times but the shots are very satisfying, especially when the combos start happening.
Spent time on resolving loud mechanical issues today.
Which includes:
- Putting a woofer in the lower cab, not wired yet but to basically 'plug the hole' in a sense
- foam weatherstripping on the underside of the lockdown bar, as well as the side areas of where the cab and lockdown meet, sealing all gaps
- anti-rattle tape on glass
- sound deadening material on coin door
My findings!:
- the lower speaker reduced the mechanical sound a great deal, espcially the pops. Playing both this pin and metallica without sound afterward, the metallica still sounds quieter, but not by much, mostly the pops in JP firing at the same time makes it louder, but its now tolerable.
- the foam around the lockbar didnt seem to reduce noise any further, BUT it did make the bar feel more in place and less prone to wiggling side to side without the foam, so still a perk.
- anti-rattle glass tape didnt reduce any noise but it did help the glass fit more snuggly into the channels, no more glass sliding down when the lockdown bar is removed, it stays right where it is, so still a perk.
- placing sound deadening material on the coin door didnt do anything, I wouldnt recommend it.
Next I plan to tackle adding another back box speaker and wiring both of the new speakers up to the available plugs on the board
Looks like adding another speaker will require some kinda specially cut plate, the mounting studs for the right speaker are integrated into the metal of the panel, so adding a left speaker would need an adapter plate to bolt to the 2 studs on the ends, has anyone added another speaker to any other home pin and have any tips or resources for mounting?
PXL_20211202_003556528 (resized).jpgPXL_20211202_003600539 (resized).jpgYa, im thinking of laser cutting some acrylic plates to mount another speaker, was mainly curious if anyone had easier methods or a product or something for those without a laser cutter
Glad folks enjoyed the stream, im going to try and hit the restore control room mode tomorrow night, so we shall see! thanks Nova, i think i'll shoot for that idea.
Quoted from RebelGuitars:Thanks. I plan to do the same thing to JP. I used a standard 4” stern spike speaker plate for the second speaker. I can post pics of how to mount it.
If you could post some pics of that, that would be awesome!
thanks! i am definitely adding a powered woofer at the very least, i sort of just want the 2nd 4in speaker for completion and to do speaker lights like rebel.
It's just fun tinkering with it, I should have some cheap matchbox cars coming today to hopefully put into the pin today, jack said there was originally going to be a jeep on its side near the jump ramp so i'm realizing that idea best I can
Got to Nublar for my first time, didn't do well at it, but I got there. Based on shot count to get there i'd compare it closest to getting to the 2nd total isolation in stranger things. It's getting easier as im dialing in the shots, but still having just as much fun as the first game I put on it! here is the 8ish minute run to get there -
Wired up a left speaker and bottom cab woofer, turns out there is no audio output from the woofer plug! I assume its not in their coding and thats fine, i wouldnt expect a lot of folks to be adding one in anyway. I plan to pick up one of those cheap lepai amps and a pinnovators pinsub board to provide a line out for the lepai to drive the bottom cab speaker. For now i have a psw10 external sub hooked up and it sounds amazing!
Quoted from Happy81724:to connect the speaker wire in the existing housing is this the molex connecter that I need?
