Quoted from swinks:

April / 2013 / Metallica / Pro / $4995
April / 2013 / Metallica / Premium / $6995 (2 models - Monsters & Road Case)
April / 2013 / Metallica / LE / $7595

Quoted from swinks:

Sept / 2021 / Godzilla / Pro / $6899
Sept / 2021 / Godzilla / Pemium / $8999
Sept / 2021 / Godzilla / LE (1000 of) / $10499

Amazing how quickly everyone got used to the new pricing structure. I guess the newbs don’t realize this is Pro pricing from 8 years ago. Only looks cheap because the price of everything else went up so much.

Game looks great but don’t forget it’s like the IKEA of pins - got mdf Pf, mdf cab with Ikea style joints, super simple code, tiny lcd, no coin door, no licensor assets.

If thus was released as a Pro 8 years ago you’d all be having a fit.

Having said all that, Jack Danger did an amazing job with his BOM.

Can you lift the pf on these? I remember the early versions of the pin had to be serviced from underneath through a hole in the bottom of the cab. Did they change it with the new versions?

Quoted from Frax:

For that amount of money, that mofo damn well better be mounted properly and serviceable.

They’ve really done a great job of making this look like a “normal” pin though - amazing what great art and smart game design can do.

Quoted from Mattyk:

Why would you spend $4,700 on this when you could get a much higher quality used game for the same price. If you also have $4,700 for a pinball you have a little more to buy whatever you want.

Im with you on this. I understand the whole "different market" schtick - this is not for "us collectors" blah blah blah. But then I see "us collectors" saying its good value and considering buying it. Do people actually realise what this is? Even the super fan boys say it's not for us.

How about these instead? 2 minute Pinside market search - first page:

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/122125 ($3700 OBO Judge Dredd!)

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/122144 ($4900 Ripleys!)

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/122126 ($3900 Getaway !!!!)

It goes on and on. These are all good solid games. Real pinball games with history and nostalgia.

I dont get it. I also dont care, but it's something new to talk about.

Quoted from purbeast:

As someone who the past couple months has gained interest in the pinball market, this is intriguing to me.
To those saying you could buy a used "real" one for the same price, well yeah you can.
But there is also something about getting something brand spanking new and putting it together, knowing that there is no wear and tear on it, and that it SHOULD work just fine for you.
You can also get it from a legit place and should be getting support from the creators of the game.
Instead of getting one second hand and not knowing exactly what problems it has under the hood. And you don't have to shop around and find one that is "good enough" but not exactly what you possibly want.
Fact is, there are quite a bit of reasons this is intriguing.
And this is coming from someone who has 4 arcade machines and has done a lot of work on them so I'm not new to the whole coinop market.

I get it. Not for me but I get it. Everyone want something different from pinball.

No no don’t you get it this is a great value, Levi says it is

He's just doing his job.

Quoted from wisefwumyogwave:

Not sure why everyone is up in arms about the mdf. It has a clearcoat right?. It will be fine. Just don't get it wet. Shouldn't be hard to keep dry in your tumble weed world down under, especially if you have a barn.

And dont remove a screw and expect to put it back more than once.

#263 2 years ago
Quoted from wisefwumyogwave:

I don't think it will affect the average buyer of this low end model.

100% agree. The first buyer will likely never remove the glass. For the subsequent buyers it will likely be an issue - preceived and real. Hence re-sale will decline rapidly, unlike it's commercial cousins.

I totally get "it's not for us" and hence I dont understand why anyone on a pinball forum would even contemplate one.

Maybe the guy buying one for his kids earlier (at $4600??). Recommending one to a non pinball freind I get (if they dont die of sticker shock).

In any case, the game itself looks great for what it's trying to achieve, anfd if it can get more people into pinball (to make Serns backlog even bigger) then great.

Quoted from Ecw0930:

What makes you say that? Send like a lot of people on here like the looks of it and don't mind NOT spending another $2k....
Not sure what you are basing the "not for us" ppl on a forum on.....

Admittedly, the hobby has changed alot recently. My "not for us" arguement goes back years.

Quoted from jellikit:

To follow-up this post needs to be replaced but gives an idea of a small area of a playfield on a home model. I don't have the audit numbers here, but it has seen significant play. I can say there are some plastics that need to now be replaced.
[quoted image]

That’s a ply pf - must have been an early run home model?

Edit: looks like Spiderman - first of the new gen Home pins.

#329 2 years ago
Quoted from m00nmuppet:

Star Wars home pin was a fun time, but this clearly takes home pins to a whole new level. I'd drop quarters in it at a bar, no question.

Are these even capable of paid play? No coin door in the photos, but is the code even there for it?

Quoted from simbob:LOVE it. Can't wait to see the pricing here in Australia and if it's reasonable, I will grab one.

Quoted from Meldenhut:

I'm all in and have placed a deposit……………….
This comes in at 8K delivered to my door

Quoted from Aries_pinside:

I keep hearing the cost argument, and maybe it's my fault, but I just don't see it.
Only 8 games in a 500 mile radius from Dallas (7 if you don't count SlugFest). You might be saying "Why not just increase your budget to higher than 5000", but you don't realize the 5000 is already the 'increased' amount. A quote for a brand new, in box, with warranty, just a few miles from me, pinball machine, is $4761.92 out the door. Buying a Tales From the Crypt or T2 *plus* the cost of the trip, and the risk that she might "look better in the pictures" makes the choice entirely preference. It really comes down to if you like the IP and if you want a new game or an old game. The cost isn't an argument, imo.
[quoted image]

But you’re not really comparing apples with apples….the JP Pin is a cheaply built game designed for the home - cheap cabinet, stripped back mechs (like slings and pops that don’t work independently), chipboard pf. The games you list are mostly commercial full featured games that have survived decades of use and still going strong - they should be compared to a Stern Pro or even Premium.
