Been saving up for a JP Pro or Prem so my kids can have a dinosaur pin, but now very excited to see this. I could absolutely see ordering this instead. Nice job Jack Danger and Stern!

Well I'm in, order placed. My younger daughter is a dinosaur nut and I had considered the JP when buying last year (ended up with BKSOR, love it), and my concern was JP was not as accessible to the kids and casual players/house guests as I would like. This Pin version looks more like anyone can just step up and get enjoyment out of it. To me, that's a more appropriate use of the Jurassic Park theme. Looking forward to the stream on Friday and receiving our new game!
Quoted from cooked71:Maybe the guy buying one for his kids earlier (at $4600??).
Yes, $4600 shipped from FlipNOut. I wish it was priced on the street like Star Wars has been, but at the same there is enough in this (my opinion) for me to bite bullet and plunk down the 600 extra.
I would be more than happy to do an unboxing and features video when I get mine and share the good, bad, and ugly. It isn't just for my kids and guests either as I plan on getting plenty of games in as well.
Quoted from Frax:Me, for one. I'm not paying 9k for a Tron Pro. They don't exist as far as I'm concerned, because the price is so outrageously stupid for what that game is, and how shallow it is, and nor will Stern ever Vault the damn thing.
Let me think here... Tron Pro, or Godzilla Premium for LESS money...hm.....yeah, that's not a tough decision.
Just dismissing the opinion that there's a market for VEs out of hand because they're still out there and purchasable for *some* amount of money is idiotic. Iron Man VE, nobody expected, the price was higher than the original game, and it sold just dandy. Meanwhile, Stern will NEVER convert someone like me on these home pins, but there's at least a possibility I'd consider a 5500-6k Tron, or god forbid if they ever found out how to do them, a 8k LOTR or TSPP.
Forget seeing a 5500-6000 new Pro again. The price is 6700 now. Like it or not, that's where they are.
Call it a fake machine all you want, I am unreasonably excited about this release and will proudly set it next to my "real" machines. Hoping production models get on the line soon!
Quoted from flynnibus:No, because your scores and all info are also on that postage stamp screen. It's legit small.
Putting a 13" monitor with new speaker box+translite would be a great $500 mod opportunity.
It's legit small if you cram all the detail into it that you would a large screen ala Jersey Jack. A UI designed for a smaller screen should not give the player any issue.
Please tell me the "Restore Power" mode starts with the whole machine going dark and no power to the flippers while the animation plays, then a new ball launches. That would make for a great moment.
Any word on production and ship dates? I had read something about November 8 but Stern will often throw a production line picture on their social media for new pins and I haven't seen that yet. Their press releases would make me believe that they will definitely be going out the door by Christmas.
Stream looked really nice, thanks for sharing it. Man this game looks fast and with short ball times.
Quoted from UNCgump:So after all these upgrades, you'll have sunk the cost of...a Stern pro?
It's an MSRP $2,100 difference so no.
Sent the kids to bed and had some fun. There was a good bit of glare on the glass, so I turned the backbox lighting during play down to 20% and that helped a lot. This game shoots great. There is no sound effect when entering your initials, would be nice to have one in code 1.02. The raptor pit is great, both ramps are great, some coils seem to fire when I hit the spinosaurus captive ball but I'm not sure exactly what's happening there.
Played and finished Escape Nublar, which was great. Started working on getting to Restore Power but ended up draining. I believe I ended up with two extra balls that game but it wasn't clear when or how they were awarded.
Sound is good with the one speaker. I will probably look to add another.
A lot of air balls off the Spinosaurus captive ball. But sometimes you snikt it off the captive ball into another shot and that's pretty fun.
Yes the screen is small. Yes you can still see what is going on.
This is definitely a "just one more game" kind of game. I'm loving it.
Probably time to start an owners thread for these types of issues, but as a heads up for now, if you need to pull the playfield. The rear plastics have zero clearance from the aft support beam. Be sure to keep the playfield as low as possible when sliding it back into place. Even then, the plastics will rub on the brace and will flex. I am concerned that this will eventually lead to cracking. Stern may want to consider shaving the top 1/8" off these plastics, or mount them 1/8" lower.
Quoted from Bluthgg:How easy is it removing the playfield on a home pin? Only considering because the movers I typically use don’t have an opening for a bit and I want to get it up into my game room (the lighter the better for me).
Same as a normal pin but you need to remove a bolt (7/16" hex head) and unplug the start button on the lockdown bar. It's a little lighter than a Pro but by that much.
Quoted from mrSATURN2012:Guys, I love this pin so much. Those ramps are the kind you wanna hit, over and over and over.
Is anyone else having trouble saving high scores? I checked out the HSTD Reset Count and it's set to OFF. Any other ideas?
Yes, sometimes my scores do not save. I need to send a bug report to Stern about it. Additionally, if the ball gets stuck behind the T-Rex drop targets, a ball search only raises the targets and the ball is not freed. Not sure if they can program the targets to drop, but that would be helpful.
Quoted from Manderko1:Did we ever get the high score thing nailed down? Mine aren't saving. Loving the Pin though!
I know that Jack and Stern are aware of the issue. I do not know about any resolution yet.
