Should be a blast now.

#12 6 years ago

#16 6 years ago

I have never seen any thing like this, what an update

#17 6 years ago

Should call it 2.0 as it seems like an entire code change.

#18 6 years ago

I can't wait for this game to tank in sales/collector's hearts. I hope it pulls an Avatar so I can get one really stinkin' cheap.

#19 6 years ago

Just got it installed and played a few games. First things I noticed where...

- Better more pulsing light show on the red/white/blue bars under the drop targets.
- Finally making good use of the 180 captive ball lights and giving a captive ball upgrade when they're completed.
-Tanner what's-his-name giving you crap when you don't complete Rally Race. Also a little more humor in the call outs overall.
- Cool new sounds when you hit targets.
- New animations here & there.

I'd better grab a 6'er and check into this more....

See above.

#21 6 years ago

That's some huge update. All for a game so many said would not sell. Oh ye of little faith.

#22 6 years ago

People are liking the game on location. It's not easy to get through all six modes. It gets very addictive. Can't wait to try the new code tomorrow.

#23 6 years ago

Looks like some of the new code is to make things match better with the Boss premium version of the game.

#24 6 years ago

With the few plays I put on the new code, I can tell there are a lot more sound effects and some more DMD animations. Pretty cool. Found one problem where the ball will sometimes get trapped under the ramp from an auto launch, and then you have to wait for a ball search for it to free it (I have the center post disabled; thinking that might affect it). Also, the ramp(s) seem to be in play a lot more than the previous code.

Also, after a couple failed attempts at downloading the code from Stern, it worked and the website seems to be working ok now.

So, in other words, not much changed.

I like the game. Maybe more than I should.

Well, it was only a couple games, and I'm not very good at analyzing code with regards to modes and such. I can tell there are some changes to the modes (Police Pursuit and Rally Race to name two), but I'm quite sure any insight I could offer would be flamed pretty quickly here. So, I'll leave that stuff to the pros.

Chris

Quoted from jalpert:

EXACTLY, it looks HUGE, but if you take the time to read ....it's nothing big in terms of gameplay other than fleshing out/polishing of the wizard mode, Slight super skill shot difference (not sure how..seems the same) and M-U-S-T-A-N-G letters at the scoop for completing modes--could be cool but might just add to the mini-wiz extravaganza that happens when you're done completing the modes (reminds me of No Fear's min wiz modes leading up to The final wiz)

So yeah this looks like the FINAL code update to polish it all off. Am I missing anything? Could be some nuggets not listed, but...'

... WTF is with the 360 bowl??? Still nothing???

#28 6 years ago

Downside t he new animations and sound calls for mustang letters slows the game down is not welcomed here. I love the speed of this game and think it needs to stay fast

Plus. Everything else. 180 and donut time. Code adds a bunch of cool things.

#29 6 years ago

I have returned to offer more input after playing a few more games on the new code 1.30. I fully expect to get thrown to the wolves for these views, but here I go...

First off, I must say, I kind of find it funny... It seems to me people WANT to dislike this game. I can kinda see why (Ford/Mustang theme, Etc); but I just keep seeing a lot of posts similar to the effect of, "I'm surprised I like playing this game." At this point in the hobby for me, I find it surprising people will judge a game on theme alone. To each their own I guess.

FYI, I bought the game NIB because I'm a born and raised Ford guy (my Dad was a test engineer in Dearborn for 30 years, and I hope to own a 2015 Mustang next year), but more so because a lot of guys here said the game is fun. It IS fun. But, with all that being said, I'm have a VERY hard time loving this game.

To me, the new code has a added A LOT for me. I'll try and be as descriptive and non-subjective as I can. In any event, flame suit on!!!

- Added code for Donut Time. After you rack up three Donut Time's, there is a one shot Super Donut Time.

- Ramps are in play a lot more.

- Clarified code to achieve letters for Mustang Multiball (shooting the scoop) and added call outs/narration. Yes, it will increase the delay in getting the ball back from the scoop because of narration. Some narrations are longer than others and it does slow game play a bit depending on the call out. When one of the letters in "Mustang" is flashing, you can go to the scoop and get that letter.

- On the mode of Drag Race, it says "Drag Race Multiball" instead of "Gear Shift Multiball" now.

- Once you complete the top section of the rollovers, there is a "mini mode" (for lack of a better term) where it says to hit the sweeping shot. The top rollovers scroll back and forth until you hit them. Still learning on this one, and I'm not 100%, but it seems to carry over to the next player if you don't get it.

- N2O Multiplier. The call outs and narration added make this feature much clearer.

- New DMD animations and sound effects which help in the overall game feel and polished experience. I know this is very general, but playing the game a few times, it's makes a difference from the previous code.

I'll add more or edit as I discover it, but at this point, with this update, there seems to be a lot of fixes/additions to help polish the game.

Thanks Chris, I bought on theme alone also...I wonder why. Not regretting it for a moment. My first NIB also. The Mustang haters will crash this thread soon enough, they don't have anything better to do then cause a stink. They just can't stand to see people have fun with a game they don't like.

No big deal, but player should be able to bypass this by pressing both flipper buttons. I hope this is implemented on the next update as I hate waiting for the narration and a bypass makes sense.

I will agree, with some of narrations, there is a significant delay and it slows down the game. This would be a nice option to implement.

Who's hating on Mustang? Honestly, the most "negative" thing I've seen most people say is just that they didn't want to buy one due to theme/price. What's wrong with that? I'm sure it's fun on its own merits...it's pinball!

#34 6 years ago
Quoted from SideTrackTap:

- N2O Multiplier (which is much clearer to the what and why). I believe you hit the three smaller N2O targets, then hit the N2O target on the left and get a playfield multiplier. Disclaimer: more info is needed on this feature.

This isn't new -- getting 2x playfield via N2O has been there since 1.1x.
Perhaps the call-outs or DMD do a better job of indicating it now?

And yes, from when I played it with 1.1x, you hit all three N2O targets to qualify the N2O dead end shot. Once you hit the dead end, a timed 2x playfield starts. The fact that you're in 2x PF was only indicated by the big white flashers in the back panel of the PF.

Yes. Sorry, I should have been more clear. The new callouts primarily make it much more clear on what to shoot for to achieve the PF Multiplier. I guess I just brought that up because to me it made a big difference in the game.

New code rocks and this game is a lot of fun

New code installed at Lanes and Games in Cambridge, MA. Check it out if you're close.

Great summary SideTrackTap!

What's jumping out at me are the new sounds. Like the cool sound effect when you hit the drops.

It's easier to get Mustang Multiball and trying to collect all the cars during it is a blast!

The Police Pursuit mode definitely seems more difficult (haven't figured out why, and I'm not re-loading 1.2 to find out!) and there's little tweaks to all the modes.

Cruisin' mode is still the most difficult to totally complete! It has me thinking that it would be a good Pin golf objective. "Free ride" will drive everyone bonkers after a while, but that's part of the fun!

Yeah, I wish they would do something about that.

marvins has the new code as of yesterday

#41 6 years ago

Just installed it in mine last night and love it. Feels much more finished, like what I originally would have expected the game to be released with (as a noob, NIB buyer). And my knocker works now, finally, scared the crap out of my dogs the first few times, so I turned it off anyway. Something tells me also that there is going to be a lot more shaker action going on as well. Someone with one needs to chime in on that front.

Anybody figure out what the biggest insert on the game does? The ford mystery vault? Not sure if it is programmed in yet and I hope at some point we get some cool jackpot animations in the game. Right now there isn't any

Bahahahah I'm not sure what's more sad: the fact that I've not even noticed this insert or the fact that it doesn't do anything? THE BIGGEST INSERT not programmed??? WTF!

Okay so add another WTF to the list since the game seems finished.
