The switch itself is bad. I may try to transfer the armature actually if I can't find a replacement one.

I just did this carefully and transferred it to a switch without an armature in my junk pile. It IS super simple, I was afraid I would break the plastic tabs off. Yep, never buying another switch again! I have dozens in my parts box and they all have wire armatures, not the more common flat bladed ones.
