Quoted from DefaultGen:But having a name like "Free Gold Watch" instead of "Tim's Arcade" makes your place super hip and cool with the kids these days.
To be fair they are a print shop first and a pinball place second.
Quoted from LTG:I'd use pinball and arcade in the name.

And / or incorporate a pinball machine into the logo and signage.
Awesome!! I would be very glad to see another place open up in good Ol Florida ... & if it was my place I would call it "Phileas Fogg's after my favorite arcade at Church street station in downtown Orlando when I was a kid ....... jeeeez I miss that place
Quoted from TampaJeff:My wife and I have been working hard at opening up a nice Pinball joint in our local area. And the first step to get this ball rolling is to come up with a great name for it.
So you and the Mrs. have been 'working hard' and you're only on the first step of getting the ball rolling? Me thinks the working hard part hasn't been on this project!
Seriously though I would name the place "Replay Room"

I really wish this was the first step. However, its not. If I had a few hundred thousand dollars already in the bank, it would be a done deal. But I dont. so I have started by researching the area, checking out possible locations for this place, and had to meet with potential lenders to see if its even going to be possible. Things are looking good, but still a long way to go.
Quoted from TampaJeff:meet with potential lenders
On top of your normal everyday operating expenses, adding paying off loans could really be a problem.
Really do your homework on this project. So you have the best chance at success.

When I open my bar/arcade/pinball palace in Christchurch.....one day.....it will be called BARRICADE
Includes 'Bar/Arcade' and I thought it still sounds like a classy bar....well sort of
Keeping it simple is a good idea unless your area already has some amount of pinball saturation and a healthy community, like Seattle or Portland.
Is this going to be a barcade? What is your target demographic? What is the decor/aesthetic? Planning on going for a 21st century lineup with modern arcades or a more 8-bit retro feel? A name should follow those decisions.
Quoted from LTG:A name can make or break a place. Let people know what is in there and make them want to go in, or not inform them or drive them away.

LTG is right, has to be clear what's inside or no one will go (accept for word of mouth)
Need a name that gets people driving by saying, hey let go check that out.
Keep is simple is my motto. I like to go for things that will hopefully be what someone would google seach, hence the name of our local operator club is... wait for it... "Madison Pinball"
I would suggest "ClearWater Pinball" as your name. It also abbreviates nicely to CWP and could likely be the basis for a fun logo as those 3 letters mesh well and it already sounds like a cool pinball group
If I ever open an Pincade, it definitely will be called "Balls to the Walls". Since I don't see that ever happening for me, it's all yours...
Lots of great idea's coming from you all. Thank you. We have picked a few, let me know your fav's. I like the idea that many suggest about having a name telling people whats inside. So lets see what you think of these.
Flip out Pinball Arcade
J&L Pinball Arcade (Jeff and Linda)
Pin-sanity & Arcade
I'm too lazy too look up a Florida map, are you anywhere near the Everglades? If so then I suggest "Ever-cades".

I am in Clearwater, But this would be in Tampa.
I would suggest:
"Back in Time - The time warp"
"Flipping the silver bal"
"Merlin's Majestic Castle"
All titles should have- "Pinball and Classic Arcade " as suggested by LLoyd so people know what's inside.
Wizard Mode
Shooters
Player One
Kicker's
High Scores & 44's
Slam Tilt
Note: I haven't done due diligence - some of these may be in use.
Everyone thinking up names. Please remember everyone here knows what a pinball machine is, looks like, and key words like ball, tilt, even arcade.
Not every person driving by will have such insight. A lot of people don't know what a pinball machine is or even an arcade.
A name we think might be great, may not be the hook you need to get people to come in and spend money.
Forget word of mouth. You won't get that word to all the people, just the few that will already know.

How about:
Play Pinball HERE
Don't call it an arcade unless you want all the 70 and 80 year old people stopping in , thinking it's a gambling place. In Port St. Lucie there is an arcade(gambling place) every 1/2 mile on US1, not sure if it is like that in Tampa?

Were it not for the 70 and 80 year old people, there wouldn't even be pinball today.

Nice collection!!

Not sure where you are going with that statement Joe, but just didn't want the op wasting his time on people that don't play pinball and have to explain to all of them that there is no gambling or free meals. I'm almost 60 Joe, and when these gambling places came about and everyone called them arcades, I stopped in a few, only to be disappointed there were no pins, only gambling machines that I could care less about.

Wasn't going anywhere, really, unless you were a young whippersnapper that wasn't respecting his elders. But seriously, all those "arcades" around here with the old people wasting their social security money were closed a couple of years ago. Of course, I got accused of wasting my lunch money in the 60's on pinball...
