Broken pin is *usually* pretty easy to deal with if you are good with a soldering iron. I've just used a cut off piece of lead from a capacitor or something similar, stick it in a socket with the chip where the broken pin is and solder it to the stub of the broken pin. I would suggest doing it in the socket on your board so you don't have to remove the chip again after.
