I have a Frankenstein pin. I'd like to put one of those gadgets on the top of the back box for effect, that has electricity sparking up and down it. It looks like an old fashioned TV antenna. Is it a Tesla coil? The ones I've seen only light a bulb up and are 12 volt. Anyone know of what I'm talking about? Electric current dancing between the two poles and making the 'zap, zap' noise. I'd also say it might end up being cost prohibitive or even dangerous!

    Thanks, anyone.

Yes! That's it! Jacob's Ladder. While that is exactly what I want, I'm afraid of the danger of the high voltage. Too many little kids playing this pin and I don't want to risk injury.

I wonder if there is anything else out there that is less dangerous which would provide a little "laboratory" effect like in the movies? Isn't there a crystal ball looking thing that has static electricity inside it dancing around? Don't know the name of that either.

Thanks guys for your responses. At least I now know it is called Jacob's Ladder!
