Can anyone recommend excellent pinball repair/service in the Los Angeles area (Westside) for a home appointment? Searching Craigslist and Google, I found a few names--but I'd appreciate your recommendation/feedback if there was someone exceptional.

I have three pinball machines--my Addams Family is a bit wonky. An error message appears--missing pinball--occasionally. I'd really like to get all three shopped by someone who knows what they are doing.

Also, what is considered a "fair rate" for a home visit?

Should I veer towards an hourly rate or a flat rate to shop all three machines?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Did you ever find someone? I too need to find a guy.

    Pat Choy at endless pinball.

Or Kyle Takigawa for repair stuff, because he's one of the people Pat asks when he can't fix it. He's not taking on any shop jobs though, more board work and electronics.

Time, what did you need fixed?

Don't really mean to Hijack this thread - I have an Apollo 13 I just picked up. The Moon moves but magnet isn't activating. There's a broken wire so my fingers are crossed that's all it is. Also have a few switches not working right and bulbs needing replaced in hard to reach areas. Was hoping to not have to shop it right now but might end up doing that if I can't find someone to do house calls.

    Bumping this thread.

I've exhausted what limited technical repair abilities I have - which are seriously limited BTW, so I'm looking for local (LA area) tech recommendations. I have an EM that isn't powering on and the new opto board for my Whirlwind has made things worse than when the original was installed.

Before I badger a few of the names I've scanned in searching the forums here, I thought I'd reach out for recommendations of techs that are currently working in the area.

I'm happy to have someone help even if they mock my incompetence. In fact, I would welcome it.

    Great guy, great tech.

Good call with Gene, close by but he might not want to touch EMs.

For those, you could try Herb at FF...he's easy to deal with.

What em do you have? And, more importantly, was it *recently* working or did you just buy it that way?

The EM is Sky·Line and it was working until my nieces and nephew rolled into town.

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is looking for a SoCal based repair tech, Mike (see above post) is your guy! I used him a little while ago and he worked on a couple issues that I was having with my Getaway and TSPP. I am located in OC, so he doesn't limit his work to the LA area.

He was prompt and thorough and charged me a fair price. I will definitely use him again and I recommend him to anyone looking for a repair tech.
