Working on Bally Eight Ball. The Stern TA100 rectifier board will not give me the proper readings (everything is too low). Here is what I did with pics:
Meter on DC except for TP4...
Should be:
TP1 (AS2518-18): 6.4 volts DC.
TP2 = 195 volts DC (could be as low as 150 volts).
TP3 = 13.5 volts DC.
TP4 = 7.5 volts AC.
TP5 = 47 volts DC.
I get:
TP1: 0.2
TP2: 20.6
TP3: 2.2
TP4: 0.1
TP5: 3.6
Swapped rectifier boards - same low readings
Fuses are all new and checked
Changed all the parts on second rectifier board - same low readings
Put original rectifier back on - checked the values on all parts, bridges/diodes test proper, resisters check out, continuity works where it should
Checked the wiring and tried with J2 only, with J2, J1, J3, J2 and J1 only - same low readings
Checked the wiring from transformer to Stern TA100 VS Steve Kulpa's page
Checked the wiring of the connectors. J2-7 instead of a blue wire I have white for AC Neutral (checked back to the RFI filter for continuity)
Checked the transformer with only fuse F6 and I get all the right values at the test points:
E2-6: 49VAC
E8-10: 173VAC
E17-18: 7.3VAC
E13-14: 7.8VAC
E15-16: 12VAC
I cannot tell what is wrong. What I checked addresses transformer (seems good), connectors (J1 seems fine), rectifier checks out (parts wise)
Looking for advice on what I am missing. Thanks!
The only oddity (not related to J1) is there is an after factory fuse for GI Bus (see pics), but fuse checks out (20a). Someone put it in before I got the machine.
