Quoted from SuperPinball:Would you be willing to share the file for Magic?
Of course, would be glad to.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:I've re-created translites for Laser Ball and Magic by Stern.
and now Wild Fyre, I have one for sale, pm me for details
wf 1 (resized).jpgwf 2 (resized).jpgwf 3 (resized).jpgThis one was a little challenging, my customer is out of state and BG was rotten. Found a local Pinsider gracious enough to let me scan his original.
After some extrapolation, this is my result along with a couple before images.
Damn, only took me 14 days to do this Grand Prix. I really should attend to my day job!
Also I've come up with a way to more closely reproduce the mirror on originals. I found some "mirror" vinyl and just cut it with the Cameo then apply it on the areas where the printed metallic effect has been printed. Can't do super fine details but for the big areas it's a vast improvement.
It's pretty good, obviously it is NOT an actual mirror but compared to the printing of the metallic look, I think it is pretty good.
Attached are some images from a Wild Fyre. It's hard to tell in the photos but in person the areas where the vinyl as been applied looks great.
Just my opinion and of course I'm partial!
I would be willing to sell my original Motordome BG for $175 plus actual shipping. See images of the couple small areas that were touched up. Last glass I sent was around $40, but that also included insurance. I use this guide for shipping: http://bgresto.com/?page_id=777
I've re-created a translite that I can put in the game I'm selling so could help out someone that does not have one.
PM if your interested. I know this is HIGHLY sought after.

^^^Should state 150 or offer. Here it is now next to the translite that being sold with the machine.

I'm submitting an order today to my printer, if anyone is interested in any of the above, PM me, the more I order the less they become, I pass the savings through to my customers.
PM for deets, follow the links above for images, no need to repost them here, they already exist in this thread.
Shipped out my last translite order this past Friday, looking for more work.
PM me if you are interested in any on the list or if you have one you would like re-done.
Quoted from wolffcub:What are the odds you might have done a Space rider from Geiger? I also have a detailed picture of a original back glass, would you be interested in doing one up?
Unfortunately, I've not done that one and to best do a recreation it takes a scan of an original, front and back.
Pictures help reconstruction of any missing artwork, but not accurate enough for spacing, placement, color matching etc.
Quoted from izzy:Are you having it reverse printed to glass? Or?
It is printed to a translite, a mask layer will then be applied. The only thing the customer will need to supply is glass or plexi to mount it to.
Working on another order to send to my printer, I've got one so far but for each other one, we can save $10 shipping... PM for further details. Here is a list of what I have re-created thus far;
Abra Ca Dabra
Dragon
Grand Prix
Laser Ball
Motordome
Magic (Stern)
Trident
Wild Fyre
I can do others if I have a scan to work from.
Quoted from wolffcub:What is the cost of having one printed?
These range from $150 to over $200, depends on if they have a mirror layer or not. I recently started offering mirror layers by cutting chrome vinyl on the Cameo and applying it to the front of the translite. Yours would be slightly more being in Canada, sorry mate.
Some before / after of recent recreations.
Submitting my next order tomorrow, any more interest?
With a deposit, I am willing to ship you my scanner for you to scan your originals, no more excuses folks.
Pm for more details.

Quoted from Irishbastard:Cool! How much does one end up costing you?
Basic ones are $150, all the way to $200.
Shipped to CONTUS.
Quoted from Catch86:Thanks atari_daze
You do awesome work!
Anyone want to reproduce/replace your POS backglass, this is an excellent alternative.
I appreciate the compliment @catch86, as you know, yours was a joint effort and I too think it turned out more than just presentable.
Quoted from ReadyPO:GP translite from atari_daze came last night! Now to scrap off what little paint remains of the water damaged one I have ... Glad to have this option
Thanks for that, glad to be part of a restoration.
GP was a fun one to do, contracted by a guy out of state who did not want to send me his original glass, luckily found a Pinsider about 20 minutes away that allowed me to scan his for these re-creations.
A good time as had by most!
Quoted from JethroP:Is this flaking backglass worth anything to anyone....like a wall hanger?
Heck yea, someone will take it!
I'm offering a translite sale for 'black' Friday, see below for details.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/2020-pinside-black-friday-sales-summary#post-5965412
files (resized).pngBeen a while since I posted a reminder, I can create a translite from your original BG or translite via scans if you are interested.
Options to do this are:
1) send me scans of your original
2) send me your original BG for me to scan
3) rent my scanner, pay shipping both ways + a deposit
The costs run from 150 - 200 (+ shipping) depending on complexity of any mirror on original. The mirror is recreated via chrome vinyl wrap cut with a computer controlled vinyl cutter and applied onto the front of the re-creation. It's not a perfect solution but it seems to work well.
Feel free to PM me for sample photos / list of translites created thus far.
Typical turnaround time, provided you already have scans, runs about 3-4 weeks. 1 - 2 weeks for me to redraw all the art from the original, 1 week for the printer to print and ship to me, 1 week for me to apply the back mask and any front mirror, and then 3 - 4 days UPS insured shipping to you.
PM any questions.

Quoted from MikeSinMD:I am looking for a translite glass for a stern Simpsons pinball party. Or any other machine of that era. I have the translite itself and the black plastic pieces for the edges. I just need the glass. Anybody have one that they don’t need?
Just measure it up and go to a local glass shop. I think I pay around $30 for my BG Glass, tempered. Might be different now, it's been a few years since I needed one.
Quoted from Budman:Looking for a nice original North Star back glass. Second choice; Ron Webb repro.
Thirdly a translite?
I've re-done that one in the past.
While working on a Stern Magic translite this week for a customer, I came across an extra Wild Fyre that I had.
If anyone wants it, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the details and some extra images.
As an aside, here are the titles I've recreated, note that I completely re-create them, redrawing every line...
Abra Cadabra
Dragon
Grand Prix
Laser Ball
Motordome
North Star
Spacelab
Stern Magic
Trident
Wild Fyre
Flipper & Jolly Jokers I have, but another pinsider reconstructed them.
If you don't see yours on the list but have a half way decent original and can scan it, I'm happy to reconstruct it. That's the part I enjoy the most, reconstructing them.
35d32a79f09e02e9cec1674cc3fbae433b3bc5d3 (resized).jpgJust finished this translite for a customer. Here is a before and a few after.
I had to take a couple of liberties, but I think it turned out good.
The mirror vinyl cut with this 60 Degree blade helped with some of the tiniest cuts:
