Hi Pinheads. I'm struggling on the next/last (yeah right) purchase.
I'm looking for some different game play from my current lineup. Not sure, but I think I've narrowed it down to these three - DP, IMDN and JP2.

My current lineup is:
TAF, IM, MBLE, WCS, Whirlwind, WH20, IJPA, Shadow, TOTAN, SM, JP (DE).
I've owned FT, HS2, Breakshot and STTNG in the past.

I have limited playing time on IMDN and JP titles. I haven't played DP. With Covid, I'm not sure I'm going to get much more playing time on either before buying the next pin.

*I have JP (DE), so not sure if adding JP makes sense, unless I end up kicking out the DE JP. I would consider it if JP is the better of the 3. I haven't put much time on JP (2 times maybe) to make an opinion as I was really trying out other pins at the time to purchase.
*I liked playing IMDN (about 5 times total) as it was a fresh, new playfield layout feel. I like the band too, so that might have helped the rush.
*I haven't played DP.

For these titles I was thinking pro or premium.

I have two boys - ages 5 and 11, that play occasionally. If I selected IMDN, it would be for me as I think it would likely scare them - so I would put it down on the side (as if to hide it - might help hide it from the wife too, for a week before she sees it).

Other titles I've thought about in the past were MET and Tron.

I really only have space for one more to add, unless I bump something.
I'm just looking for something fresh, and different. If you have a suggestion for something other than these 3, then I'm good with that too.
I've read so many threads and posts of different comparisons, but haven't found one specific and direct to these 3 titles. Alot of information out there, and my head is swimming. Really great posts and treads from the members on Pinside, and I've grown to appreciate all the time the members here give each other for their input.

Any advice is appreciated. Pinside asked, so I created a Poll, if it interests anyone.
Thank you.

I currently have 3 pins, and they just so happen to be all 3 of these. You really can’t go wrong with either. I just got JP so it really is too early to tell, but I can tell the shots, toys, rules, and theme are right up my alley and will most likely prefer it over IMDN.

I’ve had Deadpool for 2 years and it’s one of the best games I’ve ever owned. The quality and variety in voice actors, call outs, music, sounds...cannot be matched. Nothing compares. It has much more simple rule set than JP and IMDN, but I think it has more to offer than IMDN with all the side objectives and mini wizard modes. The shots are all fantastic, feel good, and unique. I would say Deadpool’s biggest negative (which can sometimes be a pro) is that the game can be klunky at times and cause a lot of randomness and chaos.

JP also has a very unique layout with satisfying shots. It really reminds me of DP in that the flow isn’t always there, but when it does coke together it feels amazing. A lot of ppl seem to dog the lack of movie assets but I find that a big pro as it makes the game feel more like a game, and it’s own creation. I would think the movie assets display would be a downgrade, but that’s just opinion.

IMDN is a great game but a bit more straightforward than the other 2. The voice of the beast is one of the best in pinball.

All in all, I rate them:
Deadpool
JP
IMDN

But it’s close, very close.

I have all 3 as well, currently play deadpool the most but it seems to go on a 2 or 3 week rotation.

I don't think I could choose

I will say I wish I had picked up deadpool a while ago.

I own all 3 premiums, DP is my fav. Maiden is a close second. JP is gonna be an all time classic. Also have AIQ premium great shooter can’t wait for more code may have to reset the rankings.

Great choices. I own Iron Maiden and Deadpool, both pros, and neither will be leaving my house any time soon. I play Maiden the least at the moment (got a Walking Dead two months ago), but every time I fire up a game I'm quickly reminded to why it is so highly regarded.

Thank you for the information. Klunky is still part of my game as I'm a average/below player, so DP sounds more like my kind of game.
My boys will likely gravitate toward it more too with the game animation that I've heard of and it's more simple rule set.
Funny in the last 3 days I've gone from DP to IMDN to JP back to Deadpool as the top pick. I think DP will fit in better, from what I'm hearing.
Thank you again.

I've read that before too.
I also heard a new code really brought DP to life?!

I heard premium is the way to go with DP and JP, and that pro was almost as good as the premium for IMDN?
Deadpool premiums are hard to find. Would I be missing much with a DP Pro? If so, I could wait it out......

Have you played a premium DP? Anything you think is missing for game play between the Pro or Premium, or not much different?
I haven't put much time on DP to know.

Excuse me, any time on DP to know.

Im gonna throw an unpopular opinion out here; the pros are mostly (not always) the best versions of Stern games. It often feels like they focus on the build/design of the pro version, and then decide on what bells and whistles to add to premium/LE.

Anyhow, I do truly believe you cant go wrong on any of these titles. And I wouldnt worry about your kids beeing scared of the graphics of Iron Maiden either, after all, they are old enough to be able to read and the world is a hell of alot scarier place then some pinball art.

My gut feeling perfect choice: Jurassic Park. And make sure to install the package that modifies the audio/video, you can find it here on Pinside and its installed via pinball browser.

I have played a lot of DP premium. I'd love to own one but this pro popped up locally and the price was good so I went with that. The main upgrade is the mech in the shooter lane that completes the left orbit shot. It's a cool mech and you get an extra mode that is specific to that shot. You also get drop targets instead of stand ups, the disco ball, and molded figures on the playfield. I really enjoy my Deadpool pro. It's the game that gets played most in my house. The only reason I'd sell it is if I knew I'd be replacing it with a premium.

It may just be a question of which one to buy first, since it looks like you'll end up getting all three.

I enjoyed Deadpool before but yes the new code just added to an already great game.

I am also a below average player and JP is tough at times some days I set it to 5 ball to keep my spirits up.

IMDN is fairly easy shooter except for the left ramp for me.

If I had to sell 1 it would not be Deadpool

Stern pros reallly are great values. On DP though, I absolutely love the looping left orbit mech. Having that shot go to the pops every time (pro model) would really kill what little flow the game has. The drop targets are great on this layout too and the rules with them make it so that sometimes side to side ball movement is hitting drops, and other times the rubber behind them. The disco ball light show really is cool in a dark room. I’d say premium is the way to go for DP, the full experience is worth it in this title.

Pro on the other titles really seems like a 50/50 mixed bag.

Totally agree about JP. Stock game has an arcade feel and stands on it's own as a dinosaur escape theme. Little of the game actually reminds me of the movies so don't feel it needs movie clips either. I love the layout but it is klunky. Gameplay is pretty tough as well and reminds me of Shadow in a way. If you are just going to be batting the ball around you are going to have a bad time. Shots need to be accurate and planned. I wouldn't recommend JP to the average player.

Thank you guys for all the great information and insight.
Good to hear about the difficulty level of the JP comparing it to Shadow. The Shadow kicks my butt every time. Short games, and love the challenge. I'm really a below average player, and I think I'll keep that table around to make me a better player.
I pulled the trigger on a DP Premium. I think that will fit in nicely with what I have, and I bet it will draw the kiddos in more as well.
I like hearing how JP2 doesn't really follow the movies. I have that DE machine already, and I think it would actually be a relief to have the new JP separate from the movies.
So keeping the DE JP so my kids will still be able to shoot the dinos and we'll get to play Deadpool too.
IMDN and JP2 will be in my future.
Thank you again!

What is the latest code I should make sure and have for the DP? And where would I find it?
Thanks!

Just wanted to let you guys know the DP premium showed up today.
My 5 and 11 year old were so thrilled with the pin. They couldn't stop talking about it and wanted to keep playing it all night.
This is why we love this hobby. Thank you.

Your kids will love the callouts and humour. They can floss along with lil deadpool and giggle at the ball jokes. All the new leaderboards in the latest code will mean they can have their initials up there. Enjoy!
