Hey guys. I am looking for a second machine to go with SS. I am leaning towards games like junkyard and funhouse. Some people say these games are shallow and don't have deep rules. I can say the pinball theme is very important to me; for example I think that AFM is a fun and fast game, but the theme is not one that I gravitate towards. I am not sure what to do. I am looking to spend around 2500... Any advice? I just don't want to get a machine that will get boring quickly.

    EATPM of course....

...and I know a local guy with a nifty Funhouse....

I have never played one, but was not fond of the crypt keeper when growing up. Lol. I think I am going to look at some more machines on you tube

Greg has a beautiful example of funhouse...it is just out of my allowance

Other games within your price range that you may also want to consider:

    - Bram Stoker's Dracula
    - The Shadow
    - Congo
    - The Getaway: High Speed II
    - Judge Dredd

funhouse is a bit shallow, but it's one of those great, simple games that doesn't get old, IMO. I think JD and TFTC are great games for the price range. Whirlwind would be another good one (if you can find one)

Thanks for the suggestions. How do you guys feel about junkyard?

I would go with funhouse or whirlwind. They are games that are simpler, and are a bit more unforgiving, the games don't last as long. scared stiff just seems to go on forever when I play it

IMO, I would go with any other pin mentioned in this thread over Junkyard in terms of fun, gameplay, & lastability. However, the best way to decide would be to find a Junkyard out in the wild & play it a bunch first before you buy it so that you can decide for yourself.

Love junkyard, killer game, both ss and junkyard are on my wishlist, wouldn't hesitate to have the 2 sitting next to each other....

Junk yard would be a great addition.

I would not know where to find a local junkyard to play or buy. I guess patience is key

Don in freedon on here has one for sale and Al has one set up at modern pinball in NYC.

Don sold his before I could get there

If your not in a rush, I will have a Junk Yard at Allentown Pinfest this year.

I am not totally sold on junkyard. I really like other machines too. I just don't want to make the wrong choice.

    #22 6 years ago

Well you should really buy what you like. Buying what others like will not last with you.
What other games you have in mind?

    #23 6 years ago

I like funhouse, white water, junkyard, whirlwind, taxi. I like the most of the top 15 too, but they are out of my range. I keep hearing that bsd and the shadow are great, but have never played them.

    #25 6 years ago

White Water or Whirlwind would be really good.

I have The Shadow and EATPM with my Scared Stiff. Either pair well with it.

The Shadow and BSD are great games to consider, and would go well with SS.
