This is very helpful. Did you use a 3M medium grit “wire wheel”? Also, what product would you use to polish this bar to match the finish of the stainless steel rails?

Yes and it worked very well. Orbital sander for 20 minutes, the red Scotch Brite pad back and forth lengthwise to create grain. Then 10 more minutes with the grey (fine) Scotch brite pad. Like new!
