Yikes - how many plays does it take for something like that? Probably depends on ball condition I guess...
Doesn't take long at all to end up like that on Iron Man, especially if the balls aren't changed out.
Pitted, rough balls + quick redirection from magnets = sand paper effect.
The mushroomed magnet adds to the effect since it then elevates and drops the ball.
Yeah id say its more a case of letting the magnet rise and reshape itself into a speedbump than lack of cliffy.
You see this with a lot of sterns and even Segas, indy jones can get pretty bad as the magnet is constantly being used and abused.
I know of a stern Indiana Jones on route with a BLOWN OUT magnet, I'll try to remember to grab a pic next time I'm there.

I know that one. Took a pic when I saw it. Balls would get stuck in the wood crater next to it.
