Should've used a cliffy magnet protector?

Yikes - how many plays does it take for something like that? Probably depends on ball condition I guess...

Doesn't take long at all to end up like that on Iron Man, especially if the balls aren't changed out.

Pitted, rough balls + quick redirection from magnets = sand paper effect.

The mushroomed magnet adds to the effect since it then elevates and drops the ball.

Yeah id say its more a case of letting the magnet rise and reshape itself into a speedbump than lack of cliffy.

You see this with a lot of sterns and even Segas, indy jones can get pretty bad as the magnet is constantly being used and abused.

I know of a stern Indiana Jones on route with a BLOWN OUT magnet, I'll try to remember to grab a pic next time I'm there.

I know that one. Took a pic when I saw it. Balls would get stuck in the wood crater next to it.

Balls in bad shape are certainly no help for that, but the main issue is the magnet core is not at the right height. My IM has been on location for coming up on two years with no protectors and there is no wear around either magnet.
