Quoted from TG:Is that poster back lit or side lit?
The Return of the Jedi? That poster is backlit using a light diffuser panel, like all my frames.

Yes. I just thought that since it was a poster and not a translight, and especially being double side printed that back lighting wouldn't work. How does the image on the back side not show through? Does back lighting like this work for all posters? TIA.

I have tried regular posters printed on paper and they tend to be washed out when lit up because the ink isn't laid down heavy enough (especially blacks) and the substrate isn't meant to be backlit.
Paging AnimeSuperJ....aisle 3 for more info on this poster...
You can back light any poster, as Brad said; but normal posters will be washed out. A double sided poster is different in that the backside isn't white like normal ones, but the image reversed printed on the back as well. They're printed specifically to be lit. It's what you see in movie theaters.
I pulled this info off another site that explains them a bit:
The single-sided posters have printing only on the front side with a white backside, while double-sided posters have the same artwork on the front and backside. The artwork on the back is reversed (in lighter shading). Double-sided posters are normally printed on a thicker paper than are the single-sided version. These posters are displayed in "light boxes". Because of the reverse artwork on the back, the double-sided printing gives a more life-like look to the poster when a light is placed behind it.
The doubled-sided poster is the result of a very expensive printing process which involves running the initial negative through at normal color intensity. The poster is then reversed and run back through the presses at a reduced color indensity, such as 30% to 40% of the initial color. This is why the artwork on the front is more colorful and detailed than the reverse print on the back.
Here’s a short video I made to help you dial in the right color or cool to warm white for your translite. RGBW LEDs really allow you to get the right setting for the colors on your translite. For example, darker colors like Star Wars look great with a cooler white while brighter colors like Deadpool look nice with a warm white.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Brad.
Hoping for a holiday special to try to soften the blow of buying 5 at once. I can't wait to see these lit up and on display!
Quoted from loren3233:Thanks Brad and I am looking forward to the next frame coming later this month after expo.

Thanks for posting Loren! Bonus points for being the first to post a pic of KingPin in a Lit Frame.
My Beetlejuice #2 translite signing is authenticated. We are kind of camouflaged with the background, but got the photo. My wife accidentally made the Beetlejuice lit frame on display flash different colors and man ... did that make it pop and look 3D. That oopsie convinced me to buy it. I do have 4 other lit frames at home (white light only), full disclosure.

Come by today (Saturday) and grab one. I’ll be there starting at 10am.

White on full, flashing through the colors every second or so sold me on this one. That effect probably wouldn't be that great with other art / translites, but really makes this one pop and gives it depth. Goes well with the theme. Try it.

Only issue: need remote to power on and off?
Thanks for the kind words, Rick. Looks sweet! The remote control should have been in a little white box next to the larger white box the power supply was in. I sent you a PM.

No, no. I HAVE the remote. Just mentioning no actual on/off button on the frame itself. That’s all.
