Quoted from midcoastsurf:

Is that a cool white or a blue color setting you have? Fits Frankenstein perfectly.

Still experimenting with the colors, it’s cool white for now. Some of the elements in the scene really jump out at you with different colors. I’ll probably end up with it cycling slowly through them.

The video on pairing the remote with additional frames was really helpful. Got my remote working with both frames now.

is there a product that works with stern backglass or is it translites only ?

#556 1 year ago
Quoted from Jamesays:

Which backglass and what are the dimensions? My frames will fit up to 1/8" thick material (for example, Brian Allen's alt plexi backglasses will fit). I typically don't advertise my frames for backglasses as I don't want the liability if the frame were to fall off the wall, but customers have used my frames for backglasses before.

Do AP translites work as well? As for JJP, do they not fit or simply don't look good being backlit? I have translites for all of their game so it's disappointing I can't mount them.

Post the dimensions in question.

Can you please post the dimensions of the AP translites? (Not sure I've seen one with the LCD window filled in with artwork). The JJP translites that are given out at shows are typically promo translites and not meant to be backlit. I originally made JJP-size frames, but the translites are too washed out so I stopped making frames. Hopefully one day JJP will adjust their printing methods

Yes, that should fit great in my Stern LCD-size frame. You may need to cut a 1/8” thick filler piece to rest the backglass on inside of the frame to keep it centered due to the weight of the glass.

American pinball is 29.5 x 20”

Quoted from paulbaptiste:

Thanks for sharing. That 29.5" is much wider than the typical 25.75" - 26.5" width. No, I don't have any frames that would fit AP translites.

Ok Brad, Here you go! My wall of backlit frames is complete. The pictures just don't do them justice. I think it's probably the coolest thing when someone comes over for the first time and talks more about them than the games. Thank you again. Super product and super nice guy.-Joe

Question....

I have a frame and it hasn't been used in a year or so. Plugged it in yesterday and it wouldn't turn on. Thinking the remote battery could be the culprit I changed it and it still wouldn't turn on. Is there a reset function on the remote that I am not aware of?

Thanks

I got a Lit Frame today for a Bond translite. I put it up next to the Lit Frame I already had up for a Mando. These frames really look great!!! (lol almost as good as the kids’ chalk “artwork” on the wall around it)

I just spoke with Gerry and the Weird Al translite measures 26”x18”. The closest size frame I make is my Stern DMD size which fits translites measuring 25.75" x 19”. This means you would have 1/2” of light shining across the top and bottom of your translite.

My wife's Christmas present, she loves it! This is the 26.5" translite from Brian Allen.
As my wife said, the lit frame really makes it pop. Her cast signed Broadway Lion King poster came down she wanted this up instead. lol

Brad from Lit Frames was great to deal with - very transparent during a busy season, very detailed instructions on getting the frame set up, etc.

The frame itself also looks great in my office, just need to set something up to disguise the cord a bit more.

I made the cord about 6' from the frame before it hits the connection. That way you could put the cord behind drywall, then have it pop out near an outlet.

I was just thinking about that They look great ! One of my boys put his downstairs with mine .I don’t think I want to drill the holes just yet ,I finished my basement with shiplap so not as easy to patch as drywall if I move them .I’ll give it some time as this works with 4 pins and my new way of showing off the cabinet art .My wife has me cut off for now but we all know how that goes haha .I’m really digging the way it illuminates the area while dark .Pictures just do not cut it .

For a slightly cleaner look, you could try something like a cord hider...https://www.amazon.com/One-Cord-Channel-Cable-Concealer-Management/dp/B07D8WVJWF/ref=sr_1_2_sspa

Many are held up by tape and drilling holes not required.
