    Quoted from gweempose:

The Abyss is one of my all time favorite films, but you have to watch the director's cut. It changes the ending and makes it a much more cohesive story overall. I've never understood why there isn't a Blu-ray of it. I've seen the theatrical release on cable in HD, but to my knowledge there is no HD version of the director's cut available anywhere.

I thought I had the directors cut dvd but just looked and only have it on laserdisc. Lots of really cool extras included in this release. Such a great film!

    Quoted from TheLaw:

Best news ever was them finally canceling that Escape form New York reboot. Not every movie needs to be remade.

I agree! no reason to remake a great film that still holds up today.
I never heard they were talking about doing a remake.
Was John Carpenter supposed to be involved?
One of my favorite films and has potential for an amazing pin but unfortunately will never happen.
