The bgresto story on big dick is true and documented. Herb knew the story from the 1970s, and knew Dave had the glass. He convinced Dave to loan him the glass in the 1990s, and recreated it. About 25 copies were made during the "dirty dozen" backglass repro era.
On eclipse, it's interesting, but watching that video it just seems like lame Black Hole. lower playfield aside, the sound package on Black hole sure is more interesting and better in my eye. I do like the Eclipse artwork, but unless the game was like 1/2 the price of a BH (seeing how it's half the game! ha!), i'm not sure i would buy it. I mean i would rather play Black hole frankly. Even black hole with the upper-to-lower playfield hole blocked. But i might be missing something here. Guess i need to see the bigger picture... Eclipse is rare for sure! And it has a Stargazer type girl on the playfield too.
The spectrum IV i sold Puffdaddy was home use only, the original owners bought it brand new. the sandwich board situation was a sticky thing. the batteries did leak a bit, but not too bad. was able to get it working. It uses some unique circuits. Needed a pre-driver chip and had to order it from China (no one in the US had it that i could find.) I'm not a big fan of cocktail pinballs (they take up way more room than a 'normal' pinball.) So puff got the game. It is a strange game, and it wants to 'break'. we had it for about 3 months without problems. but when puff came to pick it up at the vfw it broke. it was something simple, but it was just weird that the game did that, right then. i'm pretty sure that game hates me.
