I found the one in Pennsylvania. Really sorry I let it go. Do you have any pictures you can share? I have no idea where my photos are.

What's the value of these games (located in Europe)
all games clean and working

Quicksilver (some PF wear in the green part only)
Warlok (good)
Spooky (good)

thx

#353 6 years ago

Quicksilver (some PF wear in the green part only) --> about 1K USD
Warlok (good) --> more $ than Quicksilver
Spooky (good) --> a lot more $ than Warlok

If you can get the Warlok + Spooky over here to the states, I would be interested in buying them both.

I have a 1989 Police Force Prototype, only one that I know of. What is that worth?

Hard to say on that one. I would say somewheres around 2K. I see some minor differences on the lettering colors. Black instead of white and red instead of black. Pretty sweet. Is the music/speech any different?

I'm not sure, I don't have one to compare it too. I've found over a dozen differences in it thus far.

Hello guys

I haven't go through all the posts however I think that no one mentioned Eclipse. About 183 made I think.

How come? Isn't that number correct?

IPDB shows 193.

https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=756

It sounds like it was mainly a kit conversion game in addition to those 193 dedicated games.

Generally, the most common explanation for games with low production numbers was that they might not have tested well on location. There are of course other production-related reasons, like needing to keep the line busy with a short run or to use up a stock of parts, or business related reasons about cutting a run short or shifting from one title to another.

I have a fully working Valley Spectra IV that I've had some major collectors tell me is probably 1 of 3-4 they know of that is fully working.I'm not sure on value but I would guess $1000?

This is probably very true, I had one for many years and those same people told me the same thing. I finally sold it back in 2008 at PATZ for $400. With Pinflation you could also be right on the value. Its extremely hard to know what that is when there not bought and sold everyday like so many other games, it all comes down to what someone is willing to pay for a rare game.

I see. Still very rare either a delicate or kit. I came across an eclipse one day. It was in a not working conditions and needed a lot of work. I was still learning about pins at the time so I didn't bought it. I still regret that decision. What I was thinking???

#364 5 years ago

I got a Strange World in a nice condition. Paid $1600 for it plus about $100 in parts and some work. Blast to play if you like EMs. Always wanted a Gemini but they are a bit on the pricey side if they are in any kind of reasonable condition.

I don’t think it’s gone up much at all. Spectra IV is a very, very niche market pin. Also the fact the boards are near impossible to repair is a huge factor that devalues them, unfortunately.
Rotation VIII is more popular but falls victim to the same situation. The upper limit on those is probably 1k.

I’ve been offered 2 Spectra IV’s nonworking for $100 but unfortunately I could not make the shipping happen

Here's one that I believe the Italian version (has Italian writing on the backglass) went to production,
but after searching, I have good reason to believe the U.S. version never had.
One other is mentioned, and it turned out to be this exact machine. Someone else has mentioned that
he has a Hyde Park playfield, and after seeing a pic, it is a Hyde Park (not Mayfair). Only card tray like
it. It's a Gottlieb true 2 Player AAB..

I'm presently having a glass made..

Probably a stupid question, but what’s the deal with the previous high score spot on the backglass? It doesn’t look translucent in any way so is it meant to be written on or something?

Yes that's exactly correct, you'd have used a "grease" pencil.

Ha, ha. This was pretty common for the backglasses in the 60s and 70s. Gave someone something to be (temporarily)
proud of, and others something to shoot for..

It’s a pretty neat idea, wish they continued that with the later EM’s. Instead I just have go with the old post it stuck to the glass

I've had my eye out for a Rotation and Spectra too. I'm not too afraid of the boards since they're just early solid state and not much more complex than other games of the era. The only downside is that troubleshooting information is largely unavailable, so you're basically on your own (which tends to scare away most people).

Actually, Gottlieb had, but I think the others, not so much..

#376 5 years ago

Reason why so few Spectra IV cocktail pins are in working condition
is that all the boards were stacked together
one on top of the other and the ni-Cad batteries
would leak onto boards below and eat the traces.
Mine was bought NIB from a warehouse find
and most all the boards had acid damage, with a lot of the traces destroyed.

Made a great kitchen table!

#377 5 years ago

The spectrum IV i sold Puffdaddy was home use only, the original owners bought it brand new. the sandwich board situation was a sticky thing. the batteries did leak a bit, but not too bad. was able to get it working. It uses some unique circuits. Needed a pre-driver chip and had to order it from China (no one in the US had it that i could find.) I'm not a big fan of cocktail pinballs (they take up way more room than a 'normal' pinball.) So puff got the game. It is a strange game, and it wants to 'break'. we had it for about 3 months without problems. but when puff came to pick it up at the vfw it broke. it was something simple, but it was just weird that the game did that, right then. i'm pretty sure that game hates me.

If I get one before you then maybe we can take a crack at it! I’m looking at yet another one that I may be able to get before the Saratoga Show. This one I’m thinking of just road-tripping out to get

Hello guys.

One question about Eclipse for any one that might knows the answer.

It seems that there is a discussion about the exact number of units.

The ipdb says 193 confirmed units. In the notes you can find the following info:

"Although only 193 complete games were produced, a considerable number of kits (comprising a backglass, playfield and game ROMs) were produced. These kits were usually used to convert "James Bond 007" cabinets. Steve Young told us the Bill of Materials indicates the kits are Model 671 and the full games are Model 671A. We don't know from him what components make up the "kit"

Now there are a lot of assumptions of what does this means exactly.

193 total units with a considerable number of those being kits?

Or

193 units plus a considerable (unknown) number of kits?

How many are out there?

#380 4 years ago

Uh, that quote is .. pretty definitive, and also a little odd:

Quoted from Axaios:

"Although only 193 complete games were produced, a considerable number of kits (comprising a backglass, playfield and game ROMs) were produced. These kits were usually used to convert "James Bond 007" cabinets. Steve Young told us the Bill of Materials indicates the kits are Model 671 and the full games are Model 671A. It reads that 193 COMPLETE GAMES were produced. This does NOT include the number of kits. But then your quote goes on to say:

Quoted from Axaios:

kits (comprising a backglass, playfield and game ROMs) [..] We don't know from him what components make up the "kit"

What? You (whomever this quote is from) just said a kit compromises of a backglass, playfield, and ROMs.

Value of an Evel Knievel EM?

#383 4 years ago
Quoted from DNO:

Value of an Evel Knievel EM?

Too few to give an accurate value. I would expect it would sell pretty quickly at 5k (complete / poor condition), and go up from there depending on how quickly you want to move it and your location (willing to ship, etc.)

Gottlieb Star Race 1980 is a great game if dialed in correctly. I would not take less than $1,200.00 for mine but I think many can be had for around 8-900.00.

How many of those got destroyed?

There's no way to tell how many still exist.

I had one a couple years ago. Someone painted the cabinet blue and yellow, unfortunately.

Love mine, just wish it had the value half of the equation.
If someone could figure out a way to re-add the opponent controlled flippers then it would probably be more popular.

I am looking for a Defender... If you are willing to part with one please let me know.

#398 3 years ago
Quoted from kst8cat:

Stern has had plenty of low production run machines.
Striker Xtreme - Between 114 and 480
Sharkey's Shootout - Between 171 and 720
Monopoly Platinum Edition - 18
Austin Powers Gold - 10
NBA ~450
Shrek ~600
Dale Jr. - 600
High Roller Casino ~514
CSI ~550
NFL had certain teams that only got 25 made, but overall there was close to 700.
They also had a couple of one-offs:
The Brain
Good Morning America

Those gold and platinum ones I hate seeing on lists. I liked it when pinball machines were made with one version. It’s a monopoly and it’s an Austin powers as far as I am concerned.

I believe the Monopoly platinum is what started it all for Stern 3 level pins...

I picked up a "Happy Tour" recently, needing a lot of work. I guess a true AAB? Shows only 250 of this model made. (Vs Grand Tour)

Worth doing a re-paint on the cab? Not sure on values of these, so not sure how deep to go here.

Playfield looks great, backglass is starting to flake. I'll get her running first, then clean her up, etc - but not sure if I wanted to go the full cab repaint
