I, unfortunately, have no p2000 system to test on, nor the time to test in a VM.
However, I can't help but feel sympathy for someone that has to view a nice machine with no current alternatives.
It sounds like you need to edit your cron job. As this is a linux system, half the game is googling. I would suggest a search of "scheduling x cron job" to start, that is a literal "x".
